The LED button on the supplied remote only seems to work when sitting at the pre-installed home screen launcher (SWin8Launcher). I'm guessing if you install a different home screen launcher then the LED will not work. Maybe they can fix this on a future firmware - make it work anywhere, regardless of the app you're in.

New Firmware:
http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...s912-octa-core
OTA and Full image:
This will take it to T5ZP0004
There is then an OTA that will take it to T5ZP0006 for those not already there
T5ZP0006 = New Sdk
Thanks Lin

Hi trebor, I have this device unbranded so I'm guessing I may not get updates? I'm on 0003 so can I go straight to 0006 with the device OTA or do I need to use tool to do it? & do I need to do the firmware inbetween 1st ? Or can I apply 0006 from udisk in recovery if device OTA won't work(I haven't seen twrp for this device yet). Not yet used amlogic burning tool.
Any help would be much appreciated

"...can I use the TZP firmware to upgrade" - This is always a difficult one. It really depends how much of a clone it is, in terms of CPU / GPU / Wireless modules / etc.
In the "old days" of Android TV sticks there were many people getting MK808 / MK908 sticks and flashing the Tronsmart ROM only to see it working(ish) due to subtle differences, not flashing at all or even worse, bricking it. I've personally bricked phones and TV sticks but luckily always managed to get them back, but it will depend on your experience and fear level!
First, try to get a Boneo/Coolbiz ROM and flash it to make sure that works at least (even if it's the COZ0003 version) to make sure you have a backup plan, then try flashing the "official" T95Z version. Lastly, post your findings so others know the outcome, or maybe can offer more advice if it fails. So long as you have a "spare" firmware and access to the bootloader you should be OK.

Thanks for replying I started out with theMK808B early 2012 and since then have flashed boxes sticks and tablets with the odd hiccup
So I should be able to have a go
Up to now I nave had no luck locating the COZ0003 firmware as a safety net before flashing
Coolbiz maybe is a brand used by a number of companies in Shenzen.
Any pointers would be welcome.

Checked the OTA update as soon as I got it online, but it said there were no updates, so it seems like the one I got (off e*bay for £52) was already setup with the latest build.
Still exploring this great unit, but here are some of my first thoughts:
Good Points:
- My old airmouse (RC11), USB HDD (Toshiba Canvio 1TB) and 2GB micro SD card all plugged in OK from my previous MK908 stick and worked immediately.
- plays 1080p videos fine in KODI off USB HDD (MK908 only managed 720p)
- streams 720p fine (using pre-installed Showbox app and CinemaBox HD app which I also added) (using ethernet, not tried over WiFi)
- good selection of media apps pre-installed (KODI 16.1, Showbox, Mobdro, etc)
- nice selectable LED lighting effect
- 16GB of storage (in addition to microSD expansion)
- front clock panel
- nice unique shape
- seems stable in use - no reboots or hangs so far
Bad Points:
- if you hide the lower status bar you can't get it back without rebooting
- front clock only shows time in 12 hour format, regardless of Android 24 hour setting, which seems inconsistent to me
- only 2GB of RAM - many newer devices have 3GB/4GB
- only 2 USB ports (some other boxes have 3/4)
- USB ports are 2.0 not 3.0 as some other boxes now have
- most PR images show a "rainbow" LED effect, but it only has limited single RED/CYAN/GREEN options for the LED, as well as OFF or it can cycle through them all after a few seconds
- no physical power button
