It looks like that Kodi and other Apps are installed under system/preinstall.Apps go to and delete them.Reboot.Reboot & to Recovery wipe /DalvikCache/Cache if you have a .Recovery.

I want to uninstall the Kodi Updater app but although the box is routed I cannot do the uninstall, just have force stop and disable. Can anyone give me the steps to follow on this box?

        Hi drdedus & Matchless ,

if you two have "Root" and want to uninstall System Apps like Kodi or other Stuff , use a Rootexplorer go to System / App or preinstall / priv.Apps and delete what you want . As possible make a Dalvik

cache and Cache wipe after that and reboot . App from Store shall handle that or Recovery . Remember not all Apps can be uninstalled without problems , dont touch System relevant Apps .

Ask if you need more info .

        nice Day to all

I'm using the MECOOL HM8 box, so not sure if they are similar enough - BUT
I used ES File explorer, gave it permissions for SuperSu, and uninstalled the Kodi updater app easily. The super loud boot screen is annoying, but I try and remember to Mute audio on TV first - did get me a few nasty looks from the wife... I found that large "Builds" would cause an occasional kodi drop out, but KISS works. That 1 GB ram is limiting, imo.

I'm using HALauncher, but would prefer LeanBack launcher if I can find a version that will work. Have it on my similar Mi Media box, no problems.

What I really want is Bluetooth capability. Anyone have a good dongle idea for that, or other approach?

Have a look at post #29 on how to disable the startup animation and sound in the Settings for the BB2, maybe it works for you as well.

My HM8 doesn't have that as an option. Do you happen to have the Settings apk for the BB2? I could try seeing if it would install?
