There are pros and cons with all tablets. Hopefully in the end, you'll end up with something you're happy with. Personally (almost) totally love the M8pro. The only thing that is "double-edged" for me, is the thin edge. It looks great and is thin - but the plastic edging feels a bit "sharp" in my hands. I use a "split keyboard" for thumbtyping - and that really makes that edge bury deep.

You've already handled the M8pro, so you know if this is something that affects you or not

I really liked holding the M8, but I know what you mean.
M6 might probably feel heavy in comparison.

Well, it IS 20% heavier, so no supprises there. But shape and size plays in too. If its 20% "bigger", then it'll overall "feel" more equal in weight. Lile holding a, cubic foot of styrofoam. It weighs several hundred grams, but feels like nothing.

Now that more than a week passed, since I received my M6, I would like to share a few thoughts on the device with you.

Somebody asked about the performance related to gaming. Well, unfortunately (or maybe not) I am not much of a gamer. But anyhow, I downloaded "Real Racer 3" and played it for a few minutes. The first time you start the game, it downloads about 1.4 GB of additional data. This toke quite some time. Playing the game afterwards looked quite smooth to me. No stuttering or unnecessary pauses. The sound volume is a little low, but I think this is a general problem with this tablet.

Surfing the net with the M6 is really nice. I installed the latest beta from chrome and selected the bandwidth saving option. All traffic is then compressed (before read) by Google. The performance is very well comparable to a desktop experience.

Reading pdf documents is an other task where the excellent display really can shine.

Once or twice I was glad, that Pipo included a reset possibility with the device. The device froze once completely during a normal cold boot. After the reset it came back and all was well again? The second time this happened while I was some software. Again after the reset all seemed normal again. Hopefully these problems will be resolved in a further ROM update.

Battery life, in my opinion is very good. I get more than 8 hours of surfing on one charge.

So much for now, see you.

The freezing/reset doesn't sound too encouraging (hopefully a FW issue that will be fixed soon) - but otherwise what you descripe sounds really nice. Guess the large battery pays off, sounds like you get a very respectable usage time with it

Just found yet another nice thing on my M6. It is real summer in Switzerland at the moment. So this afternoon I spent some time in the basement of my house (it's cooler there ). To my pleasant surprise, i had good reception and was able to surf the net. The WiFi of this tablet is really good.

              Just to let you know.

Good to hear! looks like Pipo is taking wifi signal serious with their newer range.

I wanted to order this from hongkongeek, but they told me that camera has a problem - some circles appearing in the photos. I am also worried about general lag that plaques Chinese tablets. I have old TF101 where keyboard jumps at you even before you press a key, while on my quad core U30GT2 lags a lot. Almost as if they dropped project butter altogether.

Don't really know what the folks at hongkongeek referred to, when they talk about circles in the pictures. I just finished testing my M6 3g and can report, the pictures are as good as can be expected from such a camera. The only circles I can see during the process of taking the picture are:

                      - selecting the camera (front or rear) the selection is kind of a circle on top of the picture
                      - after you press the shutter, a (kind of) circle appears shortly while the focus is adjusted

Both "circles" do not appear in the picture stored on the device!

                      Hope this helps

The circles you see in the photo are the user controls to take a photo, switch camera .... They do not appear in the finished photo that is stored on the machine. I mean, don't get me wrong, the M6 is by no means a good camera. The picture quality is no better but also no worse than any other phone or tablet.

                          Hope this helps

                            m6 responsive?

With regards to the circles, I think he means the 'bubbles' on the left-middle side going from bottom to top.

You said previous it performed well in a game. How about scrolling and swiping? Smooth? Lag? Studder?

Text is clear and easy to read as well? I'm torn between a few different PIPO models.

Any issues with 3G setup and use?

Re: New proud owner of a Pipo M6 with 3g

After reading several complaints in other threads, I don't know if I should still recommend the device. I am still very happy with my 3g M6. Everything works well and with the latest ROM update no further frezzes. But maybe I was just lucky. Also the 3g setup worked as expected. The only negative thing, the provider number is displayed instead of the name. No big thing.

Also new owner of Pipo M6

Got my M6 yesterday. Everything seem to work fine so far, did find chrome browser to be slow, so I just use another browser. Picture is fantastic, and tablet is very responsive, plays videos and streams HBO and
You Tube without problems. There is one thing I notice, any time I plug the charger in the tablet automatically boots up, so I shut it down but it keeps rebooting, is this normal? Has anyone else encountered this problem?
