I picked up the Yundoo Y6. 32 gigs, and 2 gigs of ram. They are available on amazon for about 70 bucks. It 100% supports the Xannytech modded firmware. I am very happy with it. Extremely snappy because of the extra ram, and the storage space is great for cache.

Well I just bricked another one of these POS's. 3 out of 4 boxes bricked. Seriously, what the hell is going on. They wouldn't flash with USB burn tool, they would fail at 2%, and flashing them with TWRP broke them completely. Nothing but red light. I think it's time to toss these boxes out and go with something better.

The Yundoo was also bricked by flashing TWRP? I think the catch here is never flashing TWRP on the machine but booting from it in a SD card only to backup and restore.

No. I had another A95X and it died from flashing TWRP. The Yundoo is perfectly fine. I ordered 4 of the A95X's and 3 of them refused to flash with USB tool, so I tried TWRP and those 3 died. Only 1 flashed properly.

oh I see. Maybe its time to solder a UART connection to it and try to recover...

For a 30 dollar box that I can return to Amazon because it died, it's not worth it. There is obviously something wrong with them as TWRP should not brick these, and the fact that they fail at 2% with the burn tool means the boxes were probably defective to begin with.

I'm actually having the same problem. Mine is the A95X_DDR4 v1_1 20160906 board revesion.

It has teh Samsung eMMC chip on it. Same chip layout posted by Kuno.

I got lucky and found data sheet on this chip: http://www.datasheetspdf.com/datashe...WEPD-B031.html

I have not had any luck resting it though.

Try plugging in the power cable when it fails then unplug and replug the usb and see if it starts going again. My x96 got bricked there and when I got the tool to see it it failed on 7% then I unplugged and replugged the usb and it said downloading system and continued on.

Also if it's windows 8.1 or newer check if you get error 43 in device manager when you get the host error.

I just boomeranged it to Amazon. But if I get another box that does this, I will try your suggestion.

Yeah just in case you get it again I had a problem with a minix box that kept giving a usb device descriptor failed error and it turns out it's windows fault. U fixed it using regedit then the box showed up instead.

I just purchased a few of the a95x boxes from Amazon as well. I cant use the USB Burning Tool to install custom firmware on any of them. Whenever I try it fails at 2%. If I try the stock firmware it loads with no problem. If I use the SD card method to flash custom firmware I get bricked with the red light. Shorting pins 7/8 allowed me to flash stock using usb burning tool.

Has anyone figured out how to flash custom firmware with these new boxes?

Ive noticed that all of the new a95x's that I have that won't update with a custom ROM have an R4 in a circle on the bottom of the box right under the rom size. R4 also appears on the bottom of the packaging. The build date is also 12/30/2016. Can anyone else confirm?
