T95Z Plus disassembled & Wifi issue. Warning: Wifi chip is not AP6330, but LTM8830

    T95Z Plus disassembly steps:
    • 1. Peel off the 4 rubber feet on the bottom of the device using a knife. Set these aside somewhere sticky side up so they will easily re-stick when you put the device back together.
    • 2. Unscrew the 4 screws. Make sure to use a correctly sized philips head screwdriver as these screws can be stripped rather easily.
    • 3. Open the case gently.
    • Note: You can remove the 1 long clear plastic tube and the 2 small black connectors connected to the lights as they aren't really necessary. The blue and green lights work fine without them.
    • 4. To determine your Wifi chip, look for the chip nearest to the small black antenna wire that will be soldered onto the motherboard. (See full pic)

I expected to see the AP6330 wifi chip as stated in product description where I bought the device from. Instead, I have the "longsys LTM8830" wifi chip. There appears to be very little information online on this chip. I think people should be warned the T95Z plus wifi chip may not be as stated and this may cause the wifi to be disabled if you flash another rom build.

The Wifi issue we are having is that we can't turn on our box's Wifi adapter and the MAC address is listed as 02:00:00:00:00:00. This happened to be me after I installed a clean Sunvell T95Z plus OTA update via SD card.

    Unanswered questions:
    • How many T95Z Plus have the LTM8830 wifi chip, how many have the AP6330 wifi chip, or another wifi chip?
    • Are there some builds for the T95Z that use drivers/radios/kernels for the AP6330 wifi chip, and some for the LTM8830?
    • Can someone post working T95Z Plus build files that also has the LTM8830 wifi chip?
    • Anyone know where else we could find the LTM8830 wifi chip drivers/radios/kernels?

FYI - My T95Z plus is working perfectly with LAN ethernet and I use a bluetooth keyboard just fine but I'd still like to get the Wifi working.

Info about LTM8830 chip: "LTM8830 is a highly integrated and excellent performance Wireless LAN (WLAN) SDIO network interface device. This module design is based on the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377-3(QCA1023-0) HW chipset. The QCA9377-3(QCA1023-0) is a single-chip wireless local area network (WLAN) and Bluetooth (BT) combo solution..."

This is the only box I could find with the same specs as T95Z that is actually stated to have the LTM8830 chip and has their rom build available for download: Ugoos-am3-16GB-Amlogic-S912-Android-Marshmallow-TV-Box

Anyone know how to pull the wifi data from this build and put it into a T95Z build?

You need to recompile the kernel with the correct wifi selected in the kernel config. I had this same issue with a rk3368 device.

EDIT: unfortunately there is no guide that I have found on how to build a kernel and then flash it for the amlogic s912.

P.S. I just opened mine up to be sure and I have an AP6330 chipset. Everything is working currently working on mine.

Same Problem Here, WIFI Dead, I have the LMT8830 Wifi Chip too

My Initial Firmware was T5ZP0030, I've try many many tings since yesterday and can't get it work..

Well we need to work on this issue and find a solution. I'm here to help fix this.

I read (translate) from a Russian forum that they have a Patch that fix the Wifi problem, but the link is dead.

And in Addition to this topic, I did take screenshot of specs when I get the T95Z Plus and board info was:

                q200_9377
and when I read the post from tutorialbs I catch that the 9377 come from the QCA9377-3(QCA1023-0) HW chipset

So, now, We know that there is a version with different board and a WIFI chip different, we need to know who build the initial firmware and how can we fix that problem!!

Ok, I keep this thread Alive and post some usefull information since we are many and become more user with wifi problem.

Ok so I did intensive research and found out that the our box with LMT8830 or a qualcom 9377 is a newer version of the original board Q200. so sooner I hope we gonna a see a firmware for our specific tvbox OR those drivers for wifi car will be included in a future firmware release.
I've check in the T5ZP0010 that is supposed to be official release soon for OTA (not manually flash) and it not contain our drivers,
I hope we will see a a new one for our 9377 wifi chip.

I know that some other device like the Beelink GT1

have the same situation (same box 2 different hardware) as our T95Z Plus, and both firmware are available for download depending of your wifi chip.
So again hope this will happen for us sooooooon!!!

hey everyone this firmware update can be flashed via usb burning tool perfectly fine. i use the newest version. make sure usb debugging is enabled in your developer settings on the box before updating. it seems to work for the wifi chip everyone is specifying. It runs smooth. my only problem is kodi isnt on main screen home screen unless you add as an app. But try the firmware. It works on my t95z plus flawlessly. all wifi showing perfectly! I had the same wifi problem with other firmwares

You think you can upload it to a good server, because tried downloading it there, taking hours and never able to finish. Thanks

It does take some time to download, yes it's really slow but let it go for the few hours and be patient. It works perfectly and is worth the wait! Also superceloron V7 For the beelink GT1 firmware works perfectly as well. Just you will lose the clock function on the front of the box for this build. But it also works very well!!!!

It's also a much faster download!!

what's the build version in your about settings ?

and does this firmware support OTA ?

I'm not sure on what the build version is on the first post I made of this working firmware made for the box (t95z Plus) http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...-tv-box-2.html
I will eventually get it when I reflash it with USB burning Tool.

Right now I'm testing the superceloron v7 for the beelink GT1 on my T95z plus, but I miss my led clock on the front of the box. and the build number for this one is SC-V7.20170128.190119. Model Beelink GT1
All flashed using the USB flashing tool

Ok, I'll look into the chinagadget image and try this one on my device,

Beelink GT1 is base on the same hardware of our device, same motherboard that's why it work. I'm talking with someone from russian 4pda.ru forum and he try that GT1 firmware too, work perfeclty and he told that wifi performance was better then the original one. I've test my wifi speed with my original firmware and I was not able to got faster then 2.1mbps up and down in 5GHz.
he say that he can reach 50mbps up down now..

If the T95z Plus new firmware is good, I will put in my dropbox for everyone here
