- 1. Peel off the 4 rubber feet on the bottom of the device using a knife. Set these aside somewhere sticky side up so they will easily re-stick when you put the device back together.
- 2. Unscrew the 4 screws. Make sure to use a correctly sized philips head screwdriver as these screws can be stripped rather easily.
- 3. Open the case gently.
- Note: You can remove the 1 long clear plastic tube and the 2 small black connectors connected to the lights as they aren't really necessary. The blue and green lights work fine without them.
- 4. To determine your Wifi chip, look for the chip nearest to the small black antenna wire that will be soldered onto the motherboard. (See full pic)
I expected to see the AP6330 wifi chip as stated in product description where I bought the device from. Instead, I have the "longsys LTM8830" wifi chip. There appears to be very little information online on this chip. I think people should be warned the T95Z plus wifi chip may not be as stated and this may cause the wifi to be disabled if you flash another rom build.
The Wifi issue we are having is that we can't turn on our box's Wifi adapter and the MAC address is listed as 02:00:00:00:00:00. This happened to be me after I installed a clean Sunvell T95Z plus OTA update via SD card.
Unanswered questions:
- How many T95Z Plus have the LTM8830 wifi chip, how many have the AP6330 wifi chip, or another wifi chip?
- Are there some builds for the T95Z that use drivers/radios/kernels for the AP6330 wifi chip, and some for the LTM8830?
- Can someone post working T95Z Plus build files that also has the LTM8830 wifi chip?
- Anyone know where else we could find the LTM8830 wifi chip drivers/radios/kernels?
FYI - My T95Z plus is working perfectly with LAN ethernet and I use a bluetooth keyboard just fine but I'd still like to get the Wifi working.
