I was able to find the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.8 and successfully get the firmware loaded via USB cable. (which I also found much more reliable with the Amlogic boxes as well using the USB_Burning_Tool)

I do appreciate the quick response, will definitely review your SD Card instructions to see if I've missed something (pretty sure I've been doing it right, but you never know LOL)
    Hang on a minute lol

I've just remembered that this is a Rockchip box, so the burning tool and SD card method can go out of the window, so ignore what I said.

    Is your Android rooted?

This is the Rockchip flash tool that I use with all my boxes.

It also includes the PC driver required for detection of the box with the tool.

Is there any way to update this RK3229 box without a USB type A to A cable? Surely there must be a way for me to utilize a micro SD card or USB storage for firmware updates

I have tried SD card methods on a few RK3229 boxes but it never worked for me.

Hi guys, did anyone get the pc to detect the TX2 box? I'm using Win7Pro 64bits, my particular problem is that the box does not have any google services and I think flashing the manufacturer's ROM stock can solve the problem ... what do you think?

You could just try to update it from the play store or sideload it yourself. Mines auto updated when i signed in the playstore so i didnt have to bother sideloading or anything

does not allow the installation of googleplay. apk throws an "app not installed" message and google play services indicate that they are not compatible with the device ... I think the box came with a firmware problem thanks for your answer

Hmmm it does sound like a weird firmware issue going on, are you downloading the correct apk for your TX2? you need the standard arm version for android 6 marshmallow. Just gotta make sure to ask as there are quite a few variants. I know the newly made TX2 boxes are shipping with a newer firmware than what my box was shipped with so that could explain your hassle vs the plug and play ease I had with Google Play Services.

my friend, I think I have solved the problem, what I did was install busybox and then lucky patcher, install all google apps as a system with LuckyPatcher and in the following order: Google Service Frameworks-> Google Account Manager-> Google Play Service -> Google Play Store, I can only wait and see how it behaves, but so far everything is excellent, thanks for your support.

I hope that it would be useful to someone

                            HI, the instructions says:

                            UPDATE FROM TF/USB MEMORY

Download this .ZIP file and upgrade your system by using the pre-installed "UPDATE" APP.

                            1. Copy the .ZIP to a TF Card or USB memory.
                            2. Plug it to your TV Box.
                            3. Open UPDATE APP already pre-installed.
                            4. Press "Select" and choose the .ZIP file.
                            5. Press "Update" and wait.

Does anyone know if I download in device root directory will it still be able to update or only through sd/usb?

Hello. Installed someone 7.1. Tanix does not have an update application. I tried to install img. by Tanix burning tool and Rockchip batch tool 1.8. Unfortunately, Tanix stays on the TX2 logo. I turned to 6.0.
