Indeed waste of time, I do not have usb cable either and no updater app,I thought of going from recovery and flashing rom. It fails and aborts and now box stuck at android logo.

Does anyone has the latest marshmallow rom in zip format so i can try flash it using the same procedure?

hahaha everybody is complaining, probably tanix never tried it themselves before releasing, they just assumed it works and assumed there is an updater app

I managed to create my own usb cable from two old (usb to mini usb cables), and flashed latest marshmallow, i will stick with that.

I was planning to by the newer tanix tx3 mini, but now I will not.

OP try this, it should be for original TX2 and not R1/R2. Flashes to MX4-based RK3229 V88 and MXQ Pro 4k with 1GB (but won't boot on those), so should in principle be the right ROM if you have a 1GB 1st gen TX2.

this is the response i got form tanix via skype regarding failed nougat rom flash:

[01:14:02 PM] Tanix Box: Some TX2 are OEM
[01:14:15 PM] Tanix Box: traders can change components if they buy certain quantity

I replied the following, they did not reply after that
[02:07:47 PM] : well the marshmallow firmware was flashed successfully right after the failed nougat rom

                          I successfully flashed the firmware
                          1. flash the image using erase flash first in the burning tool
                          2. create the SD card with usb creator and boot from the SD to flash a second time.

Almost all benchmarks are the same as with stock 6.0. the only issue is that kodi is slower than on 6.0 and I dont know why.

can someone post here the latest android 6.0 for this box? I want to downlgrade to do more testing.
                          never mind its here:

                          thanks.
                          regards.

Once you create the SD card, insert it on the slot, power the box off, then press the reset button while reconnect the AC adapter. it will boot from the SD card and install the firmware
remember you first have to flash it using the Tanix burning tool. then flash from the SD card.

I dont know anything about the widevine. sorry.

if you succeed can you please report back if FTMC or RKMC interface navigation is slower than on 6.0, I have the same issue in 3 units. regards

I need your help , i have the Tanix TX2 and last week it decided to crash , since then i have been trying to get it working again obviously with no luck . The TX2 is not picked up by the PC when connecting via USB to USB . It will boot to recovery but attempting to install Firmware 7.1 ends in a Error status 7 ( or something similar ) i have tried the "fix" but the update does not have any "assert" commands to change. I cannot find anywhere a previous firmware version in a .zip format so that recovery can be used and any attempts to create my own have thus far ended with efooter errors or signature errors ( of course )
Attempting to make a bootable SDCard just ends with a BEX error no matter what software i use.

Unless i can find a previous version of the firmware in .ZIP format to be able to boot from within recovery i think the only other option is via UART ? i have a UART cable but my experience is with flight controllers not TV Boxes so if any body could point me in the right direction of flashing firmware via Uart or by providing me with a flashable vers 6 firmware.ZIP i would be grateful.

Thanks for any help you can provide
