...that's my score with my current 5.1 LL firmware. Biggest difference is in ram and i/o throughput compared to MM, which does not match that performance, yet.

Here's what I get with this MM build:

You can try the solution I posted for Youtube in the OP to fix the problem.
Get a cheap 8/16GB MicroSD card to use for it.
I played Youtube for 1 1/2 hours and didn't notice any problems.
The next update will include some more improvements, maybe Youtube will work better then by itself for some users.

Also try disabling 'Media storage' system app in Android Settings to improve audio playback and reduce dropped frames.
    Can also use this app.

People that report Youtube problems are mostly from Russia or use non HPH, Ugoos RK3368 devices.
There might also be 3rd party apps installed by these users like torrenting, torrentstream or ES File Explorer, apps that run services in the background.
These apps must be removed for better performance.

Right on. What score do you get on your device?

That's kind of the point ... if it isn't hardware related, it's software (firmware) related.

Any compelling reason to upgrade to MM over LL, though? The MM firmwares are still under optimized, this is the best one out by far of all the Mm as far as I can tell, but it still falls pretty short of LL performance wise.

You can try this folder in folder mount app to mount it to a clean MicroSD or USB storage.
    /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.google.android.youtube/cache/exo

    Also disable
Apps - Show system apps - Media Storage app, just disable it.
It can stop background services running that cause stutter and when external storage devices are connected.

    Google Play Store
Disable auto update for the Youtube app.
The included Youtube app doesn't have any ads, it's ad-free playback.
When auto update is not disabled it will install a Youtube app with ads.

It should solve any Youtube problem.
I played Youtube for 2 hours and didn't have any video freeze or audio stop playing.

Maybe there is also a problem with non HPH and Ugoos devices that have weak/cheaper internal hardware that cause memory or write performance issues.

I don't think it's hardware related; my test device is about as generic as it gets and I don't have any stutter with your firmare even before tweaking cpu/ddr, etc.

...cpu hack works fine on MM. No stuttering or sound problems on my end.

This firmware runs all cores simultaneously with a few changes. The process differs from LL because MM places tighter (or finer) system controls on the cpu. So far, so good.

These MM gpu drivers are nice!

Thank you MO, I just installed your new rom on my Tronsmart R68 (the one without gigabit Ethernet). As I always do, I swapped my resource and kernel imgs, so my Ethernet and remote will work on different roms. This time, even using my own kernel and resource, I still do not have Ethernet and my remote does not work. The good news, I used my 5ghz wifi band on my router which is about 25 feet away, and it works great. Running speed test, it maxes my internet connection which is 90 Mbps down and almost 13 Mbps up, which is just fantastic.

    I will continue to test.
