this firmware is very stable and i use xbmc SPMC16-2-RKmodHWG also stable instead of kodi-17.1-Krypton-arm64-
I use kodi-17.3 Krypton and addons works great ...
I did have a issue when I flashed the Rooted firmware ... after I flashed the Rooted Version I could NOT use the Ethernet Port.... It would NOT DHCP
I did a Factory Reset and it went into a Boot Loop ...
I re-flashed it and tested the Factory Reset This time it dies when installing apps first time ... But no boot loop ((SMILES)))
Must Be it does NOT like Being rooted ...
Back to re-flashing firmware and adding back all of my software ...
Has anyone had trouble with the ethernet not working? I can go to advanced settings and turn it on, but it won't who an IP address and as soon as I leave that page the ethernet turns back off again. I cannot get it to stay turned on. Wifi works fine. Any suggestions? (BTW... I am using the stock non rooted firmware. According to the manufacturer the unit does not like to be rooted! They call what they have a "partial root" !lol) Would love to get the ethernet to turn on and stay turned on....( and work, of course).
Yeah did that, it's mainly ethernet connection disappearing & resolution dropping to 1080p on its own but reading comments I'm not sure it's even firmware related. Thanks anyway

I am looking for the links to the flash tools , would you have the link to them? Thank you again for all your help.
I have tried all the firmware downloads that have been linked in this thread. I used the create update disk v1.4 tool also linked and the device fails to install it. Man, I really wish these devices had an update program that was simple to use.
Thank you for the response. I didn't see a link for the update on the linked thread. I will look in the tool to see if I can update it that way. My other Android boxes were much easier to work with. But as with anything new, there will be a period of learning. Thank you once again.
Well, my CSA96 is now bricked. All it will show is a grey screen on my LG UHD 65 inch. I'm not even sure how as none of the firmware posted will even allow it to start the upgrade process. I used the "create update disk tool v1.4" and then put the SD card in the box and powered on. Each time nothing would happen. The TV would just say no connection. So after powering down, pulling the SD card, and then powering back up it would boot back into the stock system with no changes.
I tried the other tools that were recommended, that are supposed to install the firmware via USB, but in each tool it wouldn't recognise the device. I tried installing the drivers but I'm on Windows 10 and all that were there were for 8. I even thought about installing the windows 8 drivers but there was no exe file for that.
I have decided that rockchip devices are not for me. If I get any other boxes, they will be either a Minix or Tronsmart. At least in this devices, updating our flashing is cut and dry. Thank you to all of you who helped me through this endeavor.
glockman4519, I've only used rkbatchtool & driverassistant on windows 10 with this box & it flashes fine. Maybe uninstall drivers & install again with the assistant
