April RK3368 True Octacore Thread

Hi, can anyone please let me know if the ROM attached to this thread would be suitable for the Z4L Octacore RK3368 that I have.

Currently, the only firmware that I can get to work with this box is the one it arrived with:
rk3368_box-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY49F eng .qiaohy.20160926.185900 test-keys20160926-1902

Trying several others only results in either no-boot, power button not working, or no BT or WIFI.
Right now the box seems very slow, un-responsive, compared to other RK3188 boxes I've owned. It gets hot and the sound stutters quite often.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Install this firmware for the test, maybe your tv box have another module than WiFi AP6335 or the version plate PCB V13

That's the ROM I already have, the only one that works with my box giving WIFI.
I can confirm that my box has AP6335.

Strange, then maybe the reason in the settings parameter of the router WIFI

Nothing to do with my router, there are no networks discovered when Wireless is activated. It can only be connected through the LAN port.

Another ROM available, the previous one to the one you mention, is rk3368_5.1_BOX_Z4_zhongx_ap6xx_V005_20160331 and even that doesn't show any WIFI connections.

I thought there might be an update to rk3368 5.1 BOX Z4 zhongx ap6xx V007 20160927, but I've searched high and low for weeks. A marshmallow version woudl be nice, but I need WIFI to work.
The Geekbox_MOD_V1_0_5 nearly works, just need wifi.

In this and the matter is that version 007 works with a chip AP6335 and AP6255, V005 does not work with the chip AP6255,
I do't know the other reason for this problem

Try this fix
1. Enable ROOT on the box if not enabled before
2. Using xplorer (Root explorer) open root on your box
3. Go to folder /etc/firmware and find nvram_AP6335.txt
4. Rename original nvram_AP6335.txt to nvram_AP6335.txt.orig, or simple delete it
5. Find nvram_AP6330.txt and rename it to nvram_AP6335.txt
6. Reboot your box, and enjoy your fully functional WiFi!

Ok, gave that a try with ROM Geekbox_MOD_V1_0_5,
All it did was remove the ability to be able to switch on WIFI so unfortunately no further forward.

Nope, but I'm strongly considering finally making a Marshmallow firmware for Z4 as well as AP6330 devices

A Marshmallow version would be nice for the Z4.
Now I am left with running ROM Geekbox_MOD_V1_0_5, which seems to be working fine albeit I now have no WIFI.
