For the ROM transfer software I used 'Rockchip Batch Tool v1.08' and for the drivers I installed 'Rockchip Driver Assistant v4.5'

Did anyone had the box since its Android 6.0 version? If so, did it have the same problem with shutting down and then reseting again? I want to figure out if it's a software or a hardware problem.

Turns out that the USB driver does not sustain connectivity long enough after first connecting due to lack of the proper handshaking signal/command from the H96 box to keep the USB connection alive, so the USB drops out after 4 retries and your ROM transfer never gets a chance to initialise properly. My work around was to disconnect the USB cable within about 8-10 seconds of pressing the 'Restore' button on the ROM burning tool and reconnect after a couple of seconds. Took me a few tries to get the timing right (depends on what ROM burning SW and drivers you use), but I eventually got the image transfer to kick-in and ... voila, it loaded in and the transfer was completed and checked successfully.

Advise of the situation problem you encounted they may ask you to jump through a couple of loops try this try that take a photo etc...Part of the deal
and go from there, it does work just takes time.

Thank you. I will do that. Just really hoping to have something for the kids during the winter school break. I may need to buy something and keep trying to fix this unit. Anything else I should try? Question: do you like the nvidia shiekd pro? I understand that it now has google home assistant...sounds very appealing as I already enjoy my standalone speaker version. Another member is happy with Minix U9H. If you could, what’s your top pick? And i appreciate that nvidia is a diamond sponsor of Kodi...my main requirement for a media streamer.

I have seen that poor quality USB cables, using Front USB ports or laptops can give grief with failure to burn..

Worse case do a warranty advise it failed during and update.
Hey Trevor. Thx for your reply. It’s a new and speedy laptop, always enough speed and throughout in either of usb2 usb3 and type -c ports. I thought the same about power but thinking it’s adequate because windows doesn’t detect on usb3 also in any port if power supply is added. I wish I could get warranty or some assistance from the seller but they have not responded on a dozen attempts nor do they even have a phone number to call - GearBest Btw, this all began when I attempted to change the default screen layout to something else I can’t recall the name. It crashed then I couldn’t get it back up

Hi. I’ve heard some good things about various Minix devices though I can’t decide on which is best. Tell me what you like about the one you got?

Thank you Trevor. I think I’ve tried starting the process before plugging in USB but I think it didn’t allow without a device connected...I’ll try again. Also, I’ve kept power at a minimum when flashing because it didn’t allow Win10 to recognize the device (no usual connection chime)...also usb3 shows me as maskrom and cuts out quicker. What do you suggest...androidtool, rktool or something else?...also, do I update or restore?
Dozens of attempts either way and still no resolution. I often get a loader error. Please help me. I’m so close to ordering a Nvidia Shiekd Pro...though a crazy $460CAD
