Hi All,
I have just flashed 1.2c, and have been running some quick tests. I have updated the existing apps ,and installed some new ones using google play. I have also copied some files from my PC the PD800 , including a 1.4GB .MKV. (copying files to the SD Memory was a surefire way to freeze up the previous versions).
I have been able to reboot several times without issue. So far so good. I am now going to reflash with the 4GB parameters, and do some tests. If there is anything you would like me to try, please let me know.
Thanks for your hard work!

hi guys
I've been testing and trying the first ryleyROM 1.2 version for a week
I had the same probleblems like the other people when I was downloading something bigger than 1gb or when I was makeing the tablet work too much (running too much stuff or makeing a backup)
I get tired of flashing the tablet after 15 times or more, and finally I flashed the original factory ROM
I had no problems with the factory ROM
Now I want to try it again with the rileyROM but I'm not sure what version of rileyROM is the good one with wich parameters.
could someone give me a few instructions?
thank you for everything guys

You know what? I think I may have accidentally found out what the problem might be. It might be the kernel.
I'm downloading the firmware again, since I moved to a new laptop and I don't have it on the hard drive.
Let me extract the stock kernel and upload it to you and see if that does the trick.
If you have the capability of unpacking the firmware, you can test the stock kernel for me...otherwise I will post it as soon as I get it downloaded and unpacked.Randy

OK, so here is a shot in the dark, but I think the problem all along has been in the kernel.img file
here is a link to the stock kernel, I haven't branded it. I just had to extract it from the boot.img and sign it. Try flashing with this kernel and see if you get a successful boot with my ROM.
Please let me know how it works for you.

Glad to hear it.
The branding tool I use to put my logo in the kernel isn't working properly.
I have quit this practice until I can get it going again.
I think that was the problem all along. The tool works on all my Pipo ROMs...but other brands have problems.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I will post a new ROM with this kernel included so everyone can take advantage of it. Thanks for testing!!!!!!Randy

I'm using your version 1.2c It has your branding...and so far no problems. I'll let you know if anything comes up. I was able to download big game files, transfer video etc. Not one problem yet.

So you didn't have to flash the stock kernel, after all.
Sounds like all is good!!!!!Randy

1.2c still running without problems
I have been using the 1.2c rom for three days now, and everything is working as it should. I have copied and installed large files without any problems thus far. And I am a happy camper , this rom has really increased the value of this tablet for me. Thanks again!

Ok, so version C is it!!!!
Thanks for all the testing.
BTW, do you recommend this tablet to others. On Geekbuying.com, this one is the lowest priced 9.7 3188 tablet with a retina screen.

there are some trade offs off course, the audio volume is a low even at max, the front bezel plastic can quite easily scratch and there is some backlight leakage (only noticeable on a black screen). The camera's are not spectacular , but no worse than any other tablet I have seen, and they do their job. But given the price it is a beautiful screen , and with your rom and using the NOVA launcher the performance of the rk3188 is rock-solid. I have installed the same apps I have used on my ASUS TF201 prime ( a tegra 3 tablet easily thrice the price of the pd800, which by the way also has some backlight leakage) and from every app I have gotten the same, if not better performance.
I'm very pleased with it , especially after installing your ROM ,and adding a cover and a Bluetooth speaker solves the few issues there might be with it.
