    It was the cable!

Thanks to you primer and neomode.

Phwee, Neomode was right: it was the cable!

Now I am back home and should be able to make deeper testing in the coming days.

I realized that it do not recognized my apple bt mouse as opposed to the default rom
but it is not important for me.

I am really eager to install and try different apps that did not work with the default rom.

Thanks again for your rom Neomode!

      Wow,
Could never expect that software crashes due a cable, it seems critical to just one app?

How the F... did Neomode expect that?

Well respect anyway, can learn a lot from that I guess.
          As for yr information
          I ordered myself another mk-806.
hope I can retreive firmware from this one, flash it into the non-good one,
(at least when they are the same)
Otherwise I can play Radio on my audio gear again.
and use the no-good unit as a sort of experimental gadget to flashed forward and backward
maybe bricking it, but as it was no-good anyways. No prob!.

Will be going to Italien, durch Deutschland and back also through Germany,
          stops to be made :
Kevelaer, Freiburg im Breisgau, zuruck Eppelstein, Übersee, Wolfstein and Morbach.
Not especially to be in this order. Sorry!

          Cheerz

drinking Kirner Weizen.(the picture being not so realistic in color)

Indeed, you seem to know where you are going.

I've install all my basic apps and right now everything run smoothly. Tomorrow I will install what was bugging my device with the old firmware.

I was wondering if we can play with the mk806 audio driver like we can do with alsa driver. I would like to crank the amp volume to the max...?

Gosh!!! I was hoping this rom would help me with the USB joystick center app, but unfortunately it's doing the exact same: as soon as I hit the "create driver" bouton, the system freeze. With my other rk3066 stick, it is working fine...

                  A new star has risen!

Yo, I got the new MK806.
and I tested it for wifi and for sound,
                  both seem OK.

Checked the flash programs, but I cannot find a rom-dump feature,
and be able to restore that dump into the broken one.
Can I do this by titanium backup?
but booting in recovery mode will leave me without the volume up-down keys and acknoledge.
                  Can you advise me?

                    Well, I'm happy.
No advise needed anymore so far.

                    I found the solution.
It took me 3 nights puzzeling and searching, and getting always the same answers, which did not work
but a change in searchstring gave me a real good search result.

So I now have 2 identical working MK-806 units.
One for serious business and 1 for testing for more functionality or whatever!!

Will drink Paulaner Weizen on it.

Did anyone figure out why Neomode's rom disabled bluetooth and/or wifi on some MK806's? Was it a result of different chips being used despite the same model name?

I've been thinking of getting an MK806 because of the headphone port. I currently use a Uhost2 connected to a Motorola Lapdock, which I love. But to get a headphone out, I have to use a USB sound card which takes too much power often, and otherwise provides a LOT of hiss and noise from the device.

At this point, would it be a bad idea to buy one of these? My RK3188 device requires too much power to be run directly from a lapdock - and I kept getting screen errors. So I was hoping an MK806 would be a good match for my device, and a lateral "upgrade" from the Uhost2. That said - the Uhost2 has excellent firmware, so I'd rather not get a buggy device.

Of course don't expect wolfson dac chipset. I find there is considerably background noise with my sound system but perhaps it is more comfortable with a pair of headphones. I don't use headphone with it. I would personally like to have a place on the rom to control the driver amp volume since with some of my apps it gets too low.

But overall it gets the job done.

                                Can't tell for others.
