I do not think the standard software is buggy.
I think lots of solutions for making a backup are lacking all the necessary details.
And before you start jerking around in the software you should make a really full backup.

(I used CWM recovery for rockchip RK3066).

Until I had a new stereo device which has native internet radio, I was completely happy with my MK806.
Not to noisy at all, but i do not use the standard power supply.
I Use a custom made 10 amps 5 Volt unit which has 5 USB outlets connected only for this power supply.
And there are a lot of apps to louden up your audio output.
With tune-in radio I did not have to.

ps. due to the small wifi antenna, you'd either have to have good wifi signal or extend the antenna.

    Ciaooo

Thanks guys. I might take the chance. On my uhost2, I get a lot of hissing and pops if I connect a usb DAC directly. Not being a snob, it makes listening to a movie difficult. Interestingly, if I add a usb hub into the mix, the noise mostly goes away. But that makes my whole build cumbersome...

It seems I can only find an Mk806 on Alibaba these days. For $50. Anywhere else I should buy from?

Primer might be right about the PSU. Upgrading to a decent one will sure help. I'll try and report but for now there is quite some noise in the background.

        Schofferhofer HefeWeizen has good reviews...

Thanks for the heads up - I appreciate the feedback and it would be nice if you can try it with headphones, but no worries otherwise. One stupid question I hadn't considered: When you play audio out via hdmi and the headphone port - does the audio go out to both sources?

So if you used your TV and speakers, do both start playing sound? Is there a way to cut off audio going through the HDMI port?

My main source (a motorola lapdock) doesn't have it's own volume control. So I was hoping to use this headphone port for private, portable listening. My plan would be defeated if the sound always came out of the lapdock's speakers.

            My MK806 becomes brick

            Hello,

            My MK806 become brick yesterday.
I tried to short circuit pin 6/7 and 8/9 to update ROM again, however it couldn't work.
Anyone know how to recover my MK806? thank you.

              Hi PolloLoco,
I'm using a mk808b with lapdock and it has volume control (on the keyboard upper right).

              FN + '#' and FN + '-'

Should work right away if you connect the lapdock's micro usb plug with the otg or usb port of the device.

                1080 p HD still stuttering

                Hi all,

Neomode thanks first off all for the great ROM!

Many of you solved the stuttering problem.
Mine is still driving me up the walls :-)

                I have a MK 802 IV with neomode 1.0.

I tried several kernels even with the vsync path applied but still the same problem.

The best running is now the 1600 kernel with the vertical sync patch included.

I got MX player set up with the latest arm 7 codec and running hw + and dept color 10+

Any ideas how i can solve the stuttering would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the late answer. Yes the audio output is both HDMI and headphones plug. I changed my audio cable for a better one and use a volume boasted app. Now I don't hear noise anymore so yes it should be fine with you headphones... If you already have it let us know your impression.

No worries, I ended up buying the Rk3188 timingpower stick with headphone port. It sounds great, the only problem is that it plays audio through hdmi and headphones at the same time. I haven't figured out how to cut out the hdmi audio without making my lapdock less useful. It sounds like this stick won't help in that regard. Thanks for the assistance!

                      Kitkat

                      Hi Neomode!

It's has een some time since you did some great work and released a good working jellybean fimwarefor the mk806 with working headphone output. Again, thanks for your work on that!

Would it be possible for you to release a kitkat version of the rom with working headphone output? That would be great!
