    What have I done wrong!?

Firstly hi to everyone on the Forum and thanks to Randy Riley for all the hard work.
I am very computer literate on Windows and Mac, but new to Android. I have been trying to install the Pipo_M8_Pro_wifi_4.2.2_RileyROM_1.9 on a rooted tablet for a couple of days but with no success and from the first try I have just had a black screen despite pressing combinations of buttons in sequences as stated in the user guide. I believe that I followed the user guide to the letter, drivers are installed correctly. The ERROR message is always the same. "Download file failed" after only downloading 52K of data. I have attached a screen shot of the flash tool.
I have also tried with the RK3188Loader checked which leads to different error messages.
I have tried the reboot Recovery tool which run a script but nothing changes.
I can still connect the tablet to my desktop by pressing esc and power.
I have attached the logs for the first attempt and my final attempt before asking the forum.
As most of you have had success with the ROM I conclude that I must have done something wrong to now have a thin black brick and I would appreciate any advice.
The only things that I can think off is that the ROM somehow got corrupted on the download. I will re-download and try but I am not optimistic!

Each time that has happened to me it's been a bad USB cable/connection. Try a different cable. Are you using the one that came with the tablet? Make sure it is plugged all the way into the port. PIPO USB ports are deeper than most others...requiring a longer plug.

        Pipo M8 Pro Dead

        Thanks for the quick reply.
I am using the cable supplied, not had a problem with it before. It is in the USB port. Even now the tablet can be seen by PdaNet and Mobilego but these won't work because USB debug is off and I have no way of turning it on!
If it was a dodgy cable surely it would fail at random points in the process? With this problem it always fails at the same point after writing 52K out of 555533K of data to flash.
I cannot undrstand the logs. Have you any idea of what is happening?
I will download an earlier version and try with this. I will let you know.

            1.8 also fails

Just tried to flash the previous version. This consistently fails after loading 10181K of data. The RKAndroidTool shows that the tablet is connected. I think the next step will be to see if I can flash a stock version.

Make sure you aren't using a USB 3 port. It has to be connected directly to a USB 2 port. Not through a hub.

It still sounds like a faulty USB connection.

                Stock version also fails

Just tried to load a stock img: update-M8PRO-NO3G_english_2013530.img. This also fails. So whatever happened during the first download of RileyROM 1.9 did something from which I cannot recover!

                    You were right!!

As usual you were right. It was not a dodgy cable but a dodgy USB2 port on my desktop. Switched over to another and it flashed like a dream. Now to enjoy using it and sorry to bother you. But it may be useful advice for others to note.
                    Thanks a bunch, danscrew

I kind of figured that was the problem.

I'm glad you got it going!!!!!!

                        Bluetooth problem ?

                        Hi there,

                        anyone using bluetooth headset?
I using BT headset to listen music, when BT headset connected, I turn off display.
After about 5 minutes, there is no sound from BT headset immediately!
Until I turn on the display.
It's look like BT was sleep?
The same things happened on Bluetooth GPS. (if I turn off display to navigate)

any ideal? or maybe some apps can force wake up the Blutooth?
                        sorry my poor English.

I using Riley 1.7, but the same problem in Riley 1.9.

                        Thanks

                          Random shutdowns

First, I thought I had posted this. If I have duplicated the post ...please forgive.

Anyone else having issues with random shutdowns ...that need the paperclip/reset hole routine to bring it back up?

I am using the RR1.9 on my M8 Pro. It has been doing very well, but of late has been getting random shutdowns more frequently.

My most recent example is this morning. I put the tab on to charge. It shut itself down at 45%, requiring the paperclip. This is the first time it has done this while charging.

Any ideas? I am hoping this is a software issue.

                          Thanks.

It must be some app you added recently...or an update to an app you downloaded.

I haven't experienced any problems with my M8 Pro, but it has been over a week since I've booted it up...I've been concentrating on my M7 Pro for a bit.
