I have installed Android-x86 7.1-r1 release on USB flash drive. You need 2 USB flash drive, one for installation and one for boot.
I find out a sound issue resolved in the following thread:
For Windows 10, 32 GB is the min size to run without issue.
Ubuntu works great but no sound from HDMI and no Bluetooth.
Thanks for this. I will definitely give it a shot.
You boot via USB after having changed the boot priority in the bios? Is there a simple way to dualboot android x86 v7.1 and windows 10 off the same USB / SD card? Or would it be simpler to just have it on 2 separate devices? Is there a way to edit the bootloader so it display any extra os's that are on SD / USB devices?

Go to BIOS: push ESC several times when you power on the box. In BIOS go to last tab (save and exit) and there you have the "Boot override" section and there select the USB drive. You can't edit bootloader in BIOS or change priority. It be simpler to just have it on 2 separate devices. When install Android-x86 7.1-r1 on USB drive you must choose gpt and grub2.
I am having an issue with the X86 7.1 download, I unzip the image and it unzips to a few folders and image files, none of which are very big files nor make a useable image in win32 imager. Where is the proper file to burn to the usb drive?

You must download the iso format. Do not unzip the iso file. Use Rufus to burn usb stick.

Now i resolve bluetooth issue too with isorespin.sh tool.
This is the simple procedure:
1) Download the respun iso: https://netix.dl.sourceforge.net/pro...d64_tested.iso
2) Burn iso to usb stick and install ubuntu on external usb drive/stick
3) After installation open terminal and type:
4) sudo apt-get update
5) sudo apt-mark hold linux-headers-4.12.12-041212-generic linux-image-4.12.12-041212-generic linux-firmware
6) sudo apt-get upgrade
7) install your software as usual
For Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS works only the 3.5 mm jack output audio. This is the procedure:
1) sudo su
2) cd /etc/modprobe.d
3) vi blacklist_hdmi.conf
blacklist snd_hdmi_lpe_audio
4) reboot
I need help. Yesterday i installed manjaro linux i3 and used the guide from linuxium to fix the hdmi audio. I did all the updates, i did a few restarts and shutdowns with no problem. I was using the pc all afternoon with no problems. Today i am trying to power on the pc and i don't get any image. My screen keep's showing nothing. I am trying esc to enter bios and F7 for boot menu with no success. Can anyone help? Thanks.
