How do I remove the currently unsigned version of 'Root Explorer' to upgrade from the play store?

Download an app called X-plore...it's just like Root Explorer...or ES File Explorer.

In preferences, set to read/write to system.

Browse to the system/app folder and delete Root Explorer.

You should then be able to install it from Google Play Store.

Sorry, I didn't see that one.

Here my short review of the new version 1.5.

Had some problem during the installation. Wanted to use the full CWM, therefore replaced the recovery.img with the general one. Flushed and entered CWM. Looked exactly like on other devices (good). Played around a while with the different options, then cleaned data and cash. After the reboot, the system complained about a broken sdcard (internal storage). Tried twice with the same result. Then replaced the recovery.img with the one supplied in the ROM, flashed again and now the internal sdcard works.

@Randy: Could this problem be related to the big difference in size of the two recovery.img files?

Then I started to reinstall all my apps (Titanium). Now the tablet is up and running. It is quite difficult to say, whether it is any faster, smoother than before, it runs just well in any case.

Randy thank you very much for jet another great ROM

Here is some good news for you!!!!!!

Actually, what you are experiencing is a normal side effect of running CWM as your Recovery. (Especially the generic version of CWM).

When you see the error that says damaged sd card...just touch the error notification and select "format".

This will format your internal SD and you will have full use of the drive. So, knowing the fix...you can re-flash CWM and use it fully. The generic CWM doesn't know how to format your NAND...so you must do it manually.

If you don't want to completely flash the whole ROM...you can simply uncheck everything except recovery.img and flash only the CWM without having to start over. Since your NAND is already formatted, you might not have to mess with reformatting it, that way.

Wow that sound good, thank you Randy. I will do this in the next few days. Just one more question. Since the actual size of the two images differ so much would it be good to adjust the values in the parameter file?

                    Regards
                    Andreas

It really isn't worth it. No up side. Just leave the parameter alone...messing with it can cause big problems. Plus, anytime you change the parameters...you have to flash the whole ROM, anyway.

No problem, thank you for taking the time to produce the ROM.

I followed your instruction which required a reboot to allow a successful installation from Google Play Store.

I experienced the same issue with CWM recovery and successfully completed the same steps without any issues.
