Oh and the video sync issue was audio over Bluetooth. It’s perfect over the aux cable

Hi, I think i bricked my device.

First i was trying with a custom cable and I was getting the well known error: Initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB Control setup error

Then I have shortened it and worked. Although I had the "restart after complete" option enabled and once it finished i tried to turn it off but i think I interrupted it while it was re-flashing again after reboot. (This is just my suspicion on what I could have done wrong)
Currently it enumerates but it appear to be broken (No signal on projector screen)

I tried to reflash it i am getting the error:

                - Tried a short proper cable, and a computer with USB2 ports.
                - Tried to start with an sdcard created by Burn_Card_Maker to re-flash it but doesn't appear to respond.
                - Tried to load the stock firmware
                - Tried to boot with reset button pressed

                1) Can the device go into a state that is not recoverable ? I believe I never selected erase all.

                2) Does the fact that RunInRam succeeds mean that first bootloader stages are still working ?

                3) Does anyone know the pads for the serial console to check the status of u-boot ?

                4) Have anyone ever re-flashed the eMMC externally ? Does it need to be de-soldered ?
Or can be flashed on circuit.

                Thanks

Hmm so you stopped the the flash process, did you have ticked the erase bootloader?
If yes then that partiality delete the bootloader and adds a temporary loader for flash that is why.
Try this, load the rom a press start before you plug in the device, then plug it in and hope all goes ok, if not..
The only way i can think now is putting the box in mask mode, by shorting the correct pins in the emmc!

I have tried hundreds of times to load the rom press start and then plug it in and boot it.. it always gets to the same DDR problem. i printed above

I am not entirely sure that this is how i broke it. but the only way to debug it is to get a serial terminal so i can see what is actually doing.

What is the mask mode and how can it help ?

tonylx have you bricked your hardware or you just want to upgrade? In case you are just looking to recover i found out that image for mbox which is S905X can recover the device. Currently i am building the amlogic factory image using buildroot. If i manage to get a nice image with it i will post it.

Also i would be grateful if you can get a full image backup using DD so i can get device tree details.
