    MXQ-4k Bricked < Test Device Failed > (RK3229) (H27UCG8T2ETR NAND) (R329Q_V2.0)

(First sorry for my english, I'm Brazilian) I have a MXQ-4K and bricked it trying to flash MXQ_4k_1GB_8GB_Andr_5.1_Superceleron_v1.0 firmware using RockChip Batch Tool v1.8, but it was more than a simple softbrick, the Batch tool don't recognizes the TV Box, so I connected it in mask rom mode (short 5 and 6 pin of the NAND), try to flash the stock rom (update-rk3229_5.1-mxq_4k-ota_v0-20160516) but it fails on layer 1-1-2 Test Device fail, I also tried Android Tool v2.3 but the same error appears. So, how to unbrick this???

    > I have tested my cable with a multimeter, it's ok
    > I have tried the 3 USB of my notebook

There is a different flash tool, or other flashing method, other firmware/ROM that I can use to solve this?

Thx, and sorry for my bad english again.

    Hi,

I succeed to flash this firmware https://chinagadgetsreviews.com/down...-tv-box-2.html using AndroidTool_Release_v2.35 and DriverAssitant_v4.4 from this link http://www.mxqproject.com/files/Rock..._Update_Files/

    Hope that help.

That will not Help him, cause you mixed S905x and Rockchip.
      He needs a Rockchip Firmware.

Carregue a ROM no RK Batch.
Use um palito pra pressionar o botáo que existe dentro do conector AV da box.
Com o botáo pressionado, conecte o cabo usb à box e solte o palito.
O botáo ficará verde, no RK Batch. Clique em "RESTORE". e então é só esperar.

Brother ,, I'm Brazilian too. I have an MXQ 4K and gave the same problem as yours. I thought I had lost time, but the problem is with the ROM.

You need to use RK Batch Tools and use the right ROM.

          Use a USB-USB cable.

Download the drivers (here the "mxq-4k driver assitant 4.4" worked)
          .
The ROM that worked was: http://www.filefactory.com/file/1zul...MXQ-4K_ENG.rar

Install the drivers, then install the RK Batch Tools,

Connect the USB cable to the computer. Load ROM into RK Batch.

Use a toothpick to press the button inside the box AV connector.

With the button pressed, connect the usb cable to the box and release the stick.

The button will turn green in the RK Batch. Click "RESTORE". and then just wait.

            Riqsu , hi!

I have same board as yours and I have the same issue: the box was of a friend of mine. He gave it to me with 6.0.1 Android that had problems with Google account. So I first tried to reset cache, but it didn't work. So I flashed it with another ROM and I've bricked mine.

Now the only firmware that works for me is this one, but it doesn't have wifi and LAN: https://mega.nz/#!99oUya6I!OSXh6G70a...GYGstr0jFv1z84 (it is from a MK809IV stick).

Try to flash this in MASKROM mode, doing the short you already do. I use both AndroidTool 2.35 or Rockchip Development Tool, if it's hard to find, I'll send it via mail.

BTW, are you sure that the "stock" rom you are talking about is really the stock one for your board? There are a lot of MXQ 4K clone, with different boards, so a "stock rom" is not for every MXQ 4K.

I was having the same problem. the error it was giving in the batch tool. was the wrong firmware for my MXQ 4K. After so many attempts, I had no hope, I put this one in mine and everything went well. V88_RK3229_6.0_MX4N_Wifi Spectek_20170405.
