Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.4 ROM - with FIRST 1080P kernel and vsync fixed!

I am thinking there is some kind of sleep timer that is happening here that maybe Minix did not remove?

If I have my X7 just sitting there and I do not do anything for a while, it just powers off!
I have a feeling this is related to the instant shutdowns some of you are seeing.

It doesbt happen while watching movie thats right.

Mine also freezes - often I cannot even turn the X7 off using to on/ off switch - I have pull out the mains plug.

I am seriously thinking of sending mine back - shame as, when its working, its amazing!

Honestly, it's killing me, been home from work 2hrs and it's turned itself of twice, once while downloading an app the second just now while playing with some settings.

Was thinking of restoring the FW AGAIN, will be the forth time but I honestly think it's a waste of time, getting really fed up with it.

As said above when it's working it's great but right now mine is anything but working.

I hope someone finds the cause of this soon or it will have to go back

Just testing the x7 BiGshrek... I had powerdown to.

It might perhaps be a power issue - with the adapter not providing the power required or dirty electricity.
Some electronics are very sensitive and the X7 maybe are.

Read about people powering other tv-sticks with usb power and thats not preferable since the amps from usb is not enough and it will power down if not sufficient.

Lost data when changing kernel etc

Bob - I have just reflashed boot1080no_air.img / kernel_finless_1080.img. Lost all apps (that I had installed) / settings; Gmail accounts etc

Weird thing - when on launcher home page - select Apps - see apps - screen dims!

Go back to Home screen - screen un-dims ! Happens every time.

That's the bad - the good is that my WiFi (which is worst than awful) connected to my router very much quicker. Is this a kernel issue do you think?

If I hear of it happening for others then I'm a little more confident that it will be fixed by one of the devs. If it was just me I'd have no option other than to send it back. So your post gives me some hope!!!

Device shows up as samsung then you get more apps in playstore.

Got another shutdown just now.
Keeping it standby for the night look if its still on in the morning.
