It is a 1080 kernel. The rom is actually setup for on the fly video mode switching I believe, which none of our kernel sources support. I found that running it with a 720p kernel created some video issues. However, running it with my kernel configured for 1080p works better with it. But regardless of it being a true 1080p kernel this rom runs it at 720p regardless. If your screen looks crappy I woulld try changing video modes - It will appear at 720 still but I have had that clean it up.

@anyone having stablity issue change the power supply to a GOOD HIGH QUALITY source THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR CELL or TABLET CHARGER
a charger is just that its made to charge a battery not provide sustained power
as you apply load that approches the limits of the circuit to a AC>DC diode rectifier or a single phase mofset driver (witch most of these cheap converters are) the voltage will drop Cheaper manufacturers like to cheat the spec and simply make the board output a higher voltage to compensate for the bad regulation of these simple diode and unbuffered mofset systems so inreality AT load you get "cleaner" voltage then you do when the stick is idle leading to all manner of weird issues like random crashes when exiting Antutu because all the sudden you take the load off the power supply and it surges, tripps the resetable fuse in the PMU and causes the device to reboot OR worse it doesn't trip the fuse something gets to much voltage and it glitches out or WORSE fries
a poor analogy would be driving a stickshift car and then suddenly throwing the clutch in @ 100MPH you will either bounce it off the rev-limiter or damage the engineLast edited by Legitsu; 20 August 2013, 21:05.current devices(rockchip sucks)

My V3 stick is outputting 1080p that way.
If we use boot.img and system.img from Finless, then essentially are we just using Finless' ROM with this new Kernel? In other words, would putting hoabycsr's new kernel in Finless 1.5 work just the same.
Sorry for the long winded questions. I asked hoabycsr just a few post ago if there was a simple fix to 1080 (suggest replacing the boot.img). He pretty much said no way is that simple.

Just wanted to give my thoughts on the WiFi. I was able to copy a 100Mb file from my server at ~1Mb/s over Wifi. No issues streaming 720p.
I have just received 2 small fans which I plan on cooling the unit with, still haven't gone the heatsink route - hopefully I don't need to go to that extreme.

Thank you all for the feedback!
Once I get my V3 I will try very hard to improve on this.
Hi! I just installed this ROM for V3 MK908 stick and it booted up nicely on first run. Beautiful startup animation! Love it!
Just curious..noted from settings that the device is spoofed as GT-I9300. However, when I tried to install a certain app from Google Play, it says the App is Not Compatible with my device.
When I flashed backto the stock 4.2.2 firmware from Geekbuying, and device name reverted to MK908.. I could then install the App from Google Play.
Is there a workaround to this? I would love to re-flash to Universal v2.01 if there is a fix to this.
Thanks in advance

More testing - this time Tincore Keymapper.
It crashes at first start.
The other times, virtual controls can be mapped normally but it seems that virtual touches coordinates are "scaled" to a rectangle on the upper left side of the screen that's about 3/4 of the entire screen. Is Tincore seeing a smaller screen? "Beta Version" effect?

It's all in the build.prop, located in the system folder. You could very likely replace it with the build.prop from the stock rom and have no problems. I used finless's settings to spoof that samsung device, but maybe we don't have to do that anymore. If my work benefits you and you want to help out the cause, feel free to

I think that's the right combination I am currently using with success.
The kernel I am using is the cooler version of the Hoaby's 1080p kernel.
WiFi is stable, BT I haven't tried, skip frame appears to be gone...video looks smooth to me, haven't tried Netflix, Antutu is on the low side of 12000.
Regarding 1080p, I don't know what to tell you but I am getting 1080p screen just like all the 1080p screenshots posted on the internet for this stick.
