Most, if not all, of the current Nextbook models can be rooted with Cydia Impactor. You might give that a try. If you are successful, please dump the ROM before making any further changes to the system. I'd love to have a look at it.

P.S. Are you sure it's an 8P12 and not the even older 8PSE ?

The build date and os 4.0.3 make me think it is older than the "Black Friday" 8P12 models. The 8PSE was similar (in fact it looked exactly the same and had the same packaging) but it had a RockChip processor instead of the Amlogic processor used in the newer models.

If it is an 8PSE, Finless has a ROM for it posted here in the forums.
Both of tablets is nextbook 8P12. It just have several difference, and I found out by CPU-Z:
The previous purchased on black Friday ones running the armlogic M3-chip; the used one that I got recently has a Rockchip RK2918 on it.

I believe you are right, this one should be manufactured in 03-12, earlier than the black Friday one 09-12. (Since this one have SN: YF0312*****, compare to the black Friday one YF0912*****)

It's just several softwares version of the factory default inside is newer than the black Friday one, that makes me think it's a later version of nextbook 8P12. And also this one don't have the option for "wipe the media partition", in recovery mode.

I am still trying to get root access to dump the rom for you. but so far nothing works.
    Waiting for your suggestion.

    Thanks.

The M3-Chip one is a newer Amlogic board one. The RockChip is the older version. They changed the main board and chip and didn't even update the packaging.

The M3-Chip one should use the ROM in this thread.

The RK2918 one will probably use this rom: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?1279-NextBook-8P-SE-Ice-Cream-Sandwich-Finless-ROM-1-2-ROOT-and-Google-Play

        Thanks for your quick respond.

If you goes to the #35 of that thread you just showed me above, I am afraid, that will be the exact problem I will meet. I attached that picture below.

You may be correct. I forgot about the odd RopckChip model that we never identified to my knowledge.

Your M3-Chip model should be fine using the NXM805MC ROM.

Put this on your external SD Card and flash with the modified recovery above.

I believe this is the right one that the rom was made for.
But my suggestion is to use CPU-Z to check the system first, to make sure it really is.

I got screen shot of the CPU-Z. Is this the right one to use ?

If I have a otg cable I know works on the tablet can I attach flash drive and put the files
on flash drive to flash from it instead of using a micro sd card or will it work like that ?

                  Thanks

This is the right one to flash the rom, and please read the ShaunMT's instruction for flashing.
As to your next question, I don't know the answer. But you can try anyway, and report the result here.

                      I successfully rooted it.
I wasn't able to flash using otg cable from Flash drive.
It works only on micro SD card.

I got a message when I open SuperSU . Now what do I do ?
I clicked normal already. What should I do next ?

Actually I wanted app. or setting which increases the speed in which the tablet loads from
startup to the time in which I can open the apps. What settings or apps. should I use and how to do this ?

                      Thanks

                        SuperSU looks fine.

So many apps out there... never heard of the one you're mentioning.

Why not just keep your tab running instead of shutting down?

I'm sure I'm screwing up somewhere on this, but everytime I try to flash the rom it says that the rom is not signed.

This happens with every package and the gapps.

Do I have to root the stupid thing first? I didn't think I had to since it had root in one of the packages. Any ideas?

I've tried both roms that Shaun posted. I tried the modified and I tried that basic flashable (just to test if I was doing something wrong.)

                              Both had the same error.

I do have the right tablet I hope. I have the Nextbook Next8p12 with 8in capacitive multitouch.
