Excellent. If not too much trouble would be handy if like Finless Bob you could offer a couple of choices? I think I'll need to go buy one now!!

      Re: Pipo U8 RileyROM 1.3

Just a question...because I'm curious. Why consider a U8 over one of the M series tablets?

Dunno... iPad form, easy available cases (with KB too some of them)...

I like 4:3 for old emulators.. 16:9 isnt good for retro gaming

Is there a reason I should prefer the others?

No, it just seems most others are getting the M7, instead because of the higher screen resolution...same size.

The U8 looks like a decent tablet, though.

With all of these different Pipo models, I just wonder what attracts people to certain ones.

Like I said, I'm just curious.

Ah, thats 40% more cost.. Bigger size.. Yes, better screen. I spent a long time whittling down the 8" market.

Pipo has OTG, BT, USB Charging, 2Gb Ram, RK3188, 1024*768 IPS screen. Not too fat either!

Checks all the boxes for me

                hello,

i am new to the tablet world and just got a pipo u8 and from reading to forums i found out about your roms. i just wanna ask if it is going to be a 1.4 version soon because i understand that something is in the plans already. otherwise i 'll try the 1.3.

                thank you.

I've actually added some things to my kitchen that might benefit this tablet a bit.

Although Pipo hasn't released a new firmware (which is when I usually make a new ROM) I may go ahead and rework this one and see if I can make it better.

                  Stay Tuned!!!!!

Between uploading updates I've finished...and downloading new firmware...my bandwidth is pretty slow.

This may take a while, so be patient.

That sounds like a good plan. Once you get the drivers installed, flashing the next rom will be easy.

                              you are fast hehe.

i was now trying to flash the 1.3 and i was in the install drivers steps. i 've done everything as it is said and when i came to open the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe i saw the "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb" as it should and i pressed the "Reboot to flash mode" button but i got an error pop up that says "Device can not do switch, because of no drive.".

                              Any ideas?

Look in the ROM folders and you will find an alternative tool to reboot to flash mode.

                                This is the RKbatchTool.

Run it, and click the "Switch" button.
