PS. Every video I've tested plays fine.

There is an app called ScreenInfo, and it says my screen is 1920x840 (1920x792 app usable)

kinda explains the skinny view doesnt it? can you guys confirm this?

ps, i've flashed the Nexus rom directly with the 1080p kernel, just changed the kernel.img, that shouldnt be a problem right?

I created a new kernel based on Finless 1.5a kernel_stock_1080.img, using this tool http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-rk3188-kernel!

It works fine with Minix X7 Nexus SDK2 MultiWindows 1.2
        - Ethernet and remote control work fine

Aha. I think, I have the same issue as Pluto.
I will try your kernel tomorrow. Do you think, it will correct the resolution to 1920x1080 px?

          Thanks!

Absolutely fix the issue, the resolution is 1920x1080 px.

I'm using this kernel for about 5 hours, no crash, no shutdown. Xbmc, Netflix no freeze, no hang

              Many thanks!

Now a circle no longer looks like an oval.
Normally I run the device 24/7. Are there any risks with the kernel modifications (cpu1800h_gpu600_ddr800)? Until now I used only kernels with the default values, so I don't know.

I also have the skinny display issue. I checked the aspect ratio using the app "screen resolution and density" . The ratios are different for the two kernels

1280 \ 672 = 1.904 for the kernel packed with the nexus rom
                1920 \ 792 = 2.42* for the 1080p kernel in this thread

I think a slight error has been made

Both times i did flash the kernel with the rom

Take the kernel from trungk43 and your aspect ratio will be ok.

I did and im running that kernel now. It does fix the skinny display issue, however that kernel is overclocked to 1.8ghz rather than the standard 1.6. For what i plan to use the box for, its not really necessary to push the cpu more than its regular speed. So id rather just stick to the default settings if I can.

Im not sure whether i can just use the stock kernels from finless' 1.6 rom or whether that will just break everything. ( Im not that familiar with modding android and only do it occasionally only when looking for another daily driver)

I also wouldn't need the overclocking, but I don't know how to patch it myself.
If there are no risks in using it 24/7, I can live with that. The most important for me is: NO MORE FREEZES.

With a german modification of Finless 1.6 I had the first freeze five minutes after the first boot.

not working with my minix neo x7 mini

I've tried a lot of differnet settings/kernels etc.
                        All the same result:

They seem to work good and snappy on my neo x7 mini in the first place, but then, sometimes when i go to "settings" it tells me: "trebuchet was closed" and the setting pane gets closed.

                        Next thing is:
Bluetooth is not working at all, this is not the only rom/kernel variation where this happens. I also tried finless bob's 1.6 and there is the same issue. no bluetooth. The only rom which seems "kind of" supporting bluetooth is the stock pre007 rom: http://minixforums.com/threads/x7-mi...31/#post-20342 (i've posted there aswell that i got some issues with my bluetooth when wifi is enabled)

                        Next thing not woking is:
                        WiFi
Yes, you've heard right, wifi is not working at all! I can click on activate but it wont do a thing.
It works in Finless 1.6 rom just fine. Well, apart from some signal strength issues... but at least it works.

So I dont know if its because i use the minix n7 mini version, but it thought the hardware is almost the same so it should work...

Thinking about sending back my X7 mini and grab a regular X7 one with external antenna.
Does anybody else tried this on a minix neo x7 mini? any hints would be highly appreciated.

                        Regards,
                        RattleZ

as you've noticed, the hardware is -not- the same.
just flash back the right rom for your device.

                            Hi,

Does anyone know how to properly install this kernel?

I installed "Minix X7 Nexus 2 SDK v1.2 Multi-Windows." using RKAndroidTool. X7 installation is done correctly but after the restart X7 displays a truncated picture. So I tried to upload the patch from Trungk43. I have uploaded only the kernel, but after a restart X7 still displays the message "MINIX" and nothing further happens.

Does anyone know what's going on and how do I deal with this?

                            I thank you in advance!

                              Unable to connect to computer

After flashing this rom with both finless and trungk43's kernel, I am unable to connect to my window's pc. I want to backup and restore my apps. Anyone have any ideas on what needs to be done? Thanks!

More info: I am using moborobo and the instructions here. I have usb debugging enabled. I am unable to see usb under settings/device nor am I able to see a connect to pc option anywhere in the settings.

I am able to enter into flash mode and connect to the pc that way.

                              I would appreciate any help.

                              Thanks!

How long does it take for message MINIX? for the first time reboot it is about 2 minutes.

You can try the pre-006 stock version at http://minixforums.com/threads/pre-006-firmware.2390/

I also created a OC kernel for 1080p resolution https://www.dropbox.com/s/3s4hpslo1z...800_vsfsam.img
