Hi not quite sure what your issue is with the supplied remote. If you press power off it put X99 to sleep (not power off). Doesn't affect my TVs and I have 6 - mix of LG and Samsung UHDs as I have a sports bar. Did you pair remote with the USB receiver? Press PG & V- till LED flashes then put USB in Box LEd should go off if paired. Reboot Petrus does power the box off - the remote wont restart it - I dont think thats what its power button is for. Its woulkd appear to be to bring it out of hibernate/sleep.
I personally like this box but I suppose it depends what you want it for. I dont use 4k - only 1080p for movie streaming even though I have UHD TVs .I dont use KODI - never have never will . Seems a cumbersome way to load and get to a stream - dont like it. I only use IPTV Pro and associated purchases URL channel packs for it - works great. It fast and smooth for what I want and a good price. Current firmware 20181024 works for me but I can see it not for everyone but thats the same as many other firmware/boxes amlogic and rockchip

mine "was" almost same with my X99
but similar issue with my N6 too!!

note;my TV(Toshiba-2011 model and almost all Tosh TVs kinda handshake issue with external devices!)
so in this respect this problem comes with Tosh TV and with X99/N6 etc.,

note;I'v tried X99 and N6 with my neighbor's TVs and no any issue(CEC-HDMI)
one of Sony and one of Samsung those TVs 2016 and 2018 models

But its not bother me

found solution for debloating , i used another Explorer , the PowerOff

Reboot problem can only be half fixed with Petrus Reboot App , but the

PowerOn , of course , does not work , so useless , but the clock now works

with PowerOff , i try now 10.10 , if not i must go back to 22.5 , we really need

a Dev. , press thumbs ,

powers off my TV too , Problems with debloating , Fileexplorer will not

delete , root not fully impemented , think i try the 10.10 , hopefully a bit

X99/N6MAX/H96MAX/Yundo.......

So,"all" RK3399 Devices with a lot of problems!
Until today I'v been used two of them(H96MAX and X99) worst!
And now I'm using N6MAX(the mostest worts one!)

Life goes on with RK3399 but nothing change more!

Devices for HW O.K at least do not bother you
But those devices FWs make you mad

Need a huge development to this RK3399 devices!

Now I'v already turn to AML "again"(actually I hate it but now I say I "was" hated)
and last year I said .....I never turn to the AML anymore....

But now I'v ordered "A95X MAX" AmLogic new version 905

I loved RK3399;Picture Quality+Fast(all kind)

Note;PQ not 100% OK (10-bit Support and Colour-wash issues remain)

We are just sitting and awaiting those Chines firmwares for RK3399 devices

what is going on , i had the same if i tried to flash my X99 with 24.10. Rom , IDB & Chip Error ,

same as "Nixcore" had , strange , the Tool gave Chipinfo 330C , dont think it is right , maybe the

Tool is wrong coded , check it with older Tools ,

Hi guys

1-first of all this box(X99) something weird with working KODI(17&18)

org.F/W(stock ROM-but I do not remember the date and number of this stock)
KODI never work(or at least work but but not stable! such as if you "power-off" your device than all KODI addons&settings gone!
so you have to re-install all of these,its annoying,so it didnt work

2-in the meantime(with this stock ROM period) manufacturer given a FW but this one also didnt work!!!(as same as parag.1 situation)

3-After couple of months they released another FW(Rooted) than KODI did started to stable work!
And they also given same or I do not know were what was is it we found "OTA Upgrade" support!! so then w'v upgraded our Box by
WiFi OTA!!

And KODI(all versions)works without any issue

those are just bullshit!

Note;I bought this device May/2018 and sold out at Nov.2018,used about 6 months and it got me sick

Probably its a KODI issue

Also when you watch 4K movies thru KODI Addons then Colours also washed out!!
So in this respect I always watch these movies by1080p !!!

Note;if you watch same 4K movies by Default Player or such as MX Player no any issue!!
But 10-bit videos also not smooth or washed out or freeze.....

After several "annoying" hours, i almost give up.
X99 will simply not, beeing flashed.

Tried with SD card, USB C , and Maskroom (trought Android Tools) .
SD card in recovery menu, did not find .img file, so i tried to zip it, and then i find .zip file at SD card.

But, when i press "update" , it saids:
E:\ failed

In tools, it saids:
Chip test failed

Maskroom:
IDB Failed/Boot Failed


Tried both image, Rooted and Unrooted.

Any tips?

Fair point - Bergamesk tried it stated it was not rooted and KODI 18 didnt work. I dont need KODI but I do need root. Did you try the flash procedure I posted #730 using C port. Worked fine for me on 2 devices.

Yes new but no root and as stated by original poster not stable by all accounts. Why would you want to try it when 20181024 is rooted stable and fast

Because i have 3 local tv app (payed legal) , it wont work at rooted device.

Funny thing, several test apps, said device is unrooted
