    my gt1 ultimate 3 gb ram has fake ram. does that mean i heve defective processor too?

    i checked the ram with fill ram app. it crashed at %60 . so i have a box with 2 gb ram. i read something about these boxes have some defective processors . if i have fake ram does this mean the processor is defective too
    here is my test

    Don't forget that you OS also uses ram. Anda it will kill que ram app before you get the full 3gb of ram. What intrigued me was that the system killed the app when you still had 1gb of ram available. I tried the app with mine and it kept killing background apps untill it only had the ram used by the system. It used 2.3 or 2.4gb of ram untill it was killed. What version is your beelink?

      my serial is a706dsbf81289
      i think fake reporting of 1 gb will make it just like that.
      it was ten years ago , there were lots of cheap 128gb 64gb sd cards on ****. too good to be true , right
      of course i tried
      the os was reading 128 gb. after actual 512mb or so system was overwriting the old data . file structure was showing intact but the files were reporting corrupted.
      shocking a somewhat big company do that.

      edit : the app is supposed to cause low memory notification

        If you see the info on the app it says the system can shut down the app if memory is too low. It killed mine too. Several times. But mine is the ax12 serial. And it seem the ram is ok. The system is always crashing. But the ram seem to be ok.

            You have a wrong box. It's a normal GT1 box in an Ultimate case and 2GB of DDR3 memory. If the system displays 3GB, then it's up to the fake uboot who has been taught to read the wrong dtb header.
            For exact parts just create the bootloader log.

              bumerc, how do you know it is a normal gt1

              is it because it has 2gb ram or there is something in serial number

                a few days ago I got a new Beelink GT1 Ultimate, which I bought on e..b..a..y DE. Android 7.1 (FW 708D0) preinstalled, 3GB DDR4, S / N B706DBGG00166 32G, all good. Then I opened the case of the box and made a serial connection to the PC via uart-> usb adapter. Here is the log
                BL2 reports the following information:
                Code:
                [LIST=1][*]DDR3 chl: Rank0+1 @ 912MHz - PASS[*]Rank0: 1024MB(auto)-2T-13[*]Rank1: 1024MB(auto)-2T-13[/LIST]
                BL33 (u-boot) reports the following:
                Code:
                [LIST=1][*]U-Boot 2015.01-ge6b8bc9 (Feb 09 2018 - 10:09:37)[*]DRAM:  3 GiB[/LIST]
                BL33 may not show 3GB more at this point, since the RAM has already been initialized by BL2 with 2GB. BL33 was clearly manipulated. From now on, BL33 can also read the header gxm_q201_3g, even though it was only allowed to read gxm_q201_2g. This is one of the tricks of why system info displays 3GB. In fact, it's only 2GB.

                If you install normal uboot, it shows the following:
                Code:
                [LIST=1][*]DRAM:  2 GiB[/LIST]
                2GB DDR3 = GT1 without Ultimate.

                  did you check the mmc . if they are doing this , 32gb mmc is suspect too ,
                  and processor too in my opinion. cores are downclocked to keep it cool they said, who knows
                  i bought this 6 months ago. gearbest probably will try to make it my problem. altough it is as clear fraud as it gets
                  the thing is , i may be ok with 2gb ram if os reads the correct ram and it has somewhat decent processor

                    No, the CPU is OK, it's a real AML-S912.
                    Code:
                    GXM:BL1:dc8b51:76f1a5;FEAT:ADFC318C:80;POC:3;RCY:0;EMMC:0;READ:0;
                    ROM BL1 message starts with „GXM“.
                    GXM = Q200 / Q201 - Platform = S912 CPU. In our case it is Q201.
                    eMMC full size I test a little later, it will use a different u-boot test version.

                      Only the RAM memory was faked + BL33 manipulated. eMMC is OK.
                      So it's 1/2 Ultimate.
                      Code:
                      2.864501@0] mmcblk0: emmc:0001 SEM32G 29.1 GiB
                      And log from new uboot.

                        bumerc , thank you for replies
                        waitig for reply from gearbest.
                        which rom would fix the issue and make it 2 gb so that it wont try to use 3gb and crash freeze apps.

                          gearbest offered partial refund. right thing for them to do.
                          I have to live with the 2gb gt1.
                          now i need to find that rom.
                          i remember people were talking about a rom that was causing their ram show 2gb "mistakenly".
                          that rom is for me i think

                            You can use the same ROM you have at the moment. The cleanest method would be to change the bootloader in your case. New bootloader automatically selects the correct DT from the multi-dtb file boots the kernel with the correct DT code. I can provide you with a new bootloader.

                              bumerc that will be great.
                              is bootloader installed the same way as rom?
