Debugging was off, tried several USB 2.0 ports. Still the same error.

Here is the manual instructions from Pipo on how to get into flash mode. If this doesn't work, it has to be your Windows drivers...or your USB cable. You need to use the same cable that came with the tablet because Pipo has a deeper connection.

press the “ volume –“ key for a few seconds, at the same time press “reset”, release” Volume – “ until the tool finds out your tablet.

In the meantime I tried the original cable and the described way to get into flash mode. Flashing with ROM_Flash_Tool_137 still doesn't work (with the errors that can be seen above). I think the reason might be that I flashed this ROM: http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot....-7-rooted.html There's CWM v6.0.2.7 on the tablet and I've even problems flashing the original firmware, so that's probably not related the your's. The cyclone firmware is the only one that works right now.

I will wait patiently for this new rom based on 4.2.2.
Actually, the RRom I initially installed on my Smart S1 does ok .....just has the battery drain issue if left on, and not that smooth in use from time to time.
Would anyone have insight if this should help the batt drain and somewhat smooth out the general useage?
              Thanks ..

Yes some people that have 4.2.2 fw installed reported that battery life has improved great. I found out that the cpu is clocked at 1.4 max by default, maybe that's why it saves more but they also said that performance is way better and smoother.

I would also like to inform you that this 4.2.2 fw is from sumvision, the company that rebranded S1 to Voyager 7. Pipo seemed like they already have abandoned any fw update for this tablet.

OK, I'm working on this new ROM based on the SumVoyager firmware.

Reading the txt file, it appears there are some PCB variations....so this ROM MAY NOT WORK with all S1's, especially the older ones. So results may vary.

BTW, the reason some users were having trouble flashing my 1.0 ROM after flashing the SumVoyager ROM is that there is a different boot loader. Checking the boot loader during the flash is required. I will set this to on by default in this version.

If you flash back to the previous RileyROM, you will need to flash the old boot loader.

                        v1.1

OK, here is a new ROM to test. v1.1.

It's based on the Voyager firmware posted above.

Like I said, perhaps not all S1's will benefit from this ROM because of some PCB revisions, but it's worth a try.

                        Download

If we confirm it works, I'll post a new v1.1 thread.

HELP! Smart S1 WAS stuck in CWM.

My Smart S1 has been doing fine with the Riley Rom I loaded ...oh, months back.

Out of the blue, the apps stopped responding, one by one. I tried the reboot function to wipe the delvak cache in CWM ...and now it is stuck in CWM.

It won't turn off ...won't start up!

Found the thread on doing a manual flash. All worked, was able to flash 1st RRom. Back in business.

                            Issues.

Ok ...guys. I flashed the first rom in this thread. Some questions, please.

                            1) It is not rooted. Odd. I thought all RRoms were rooted.
                            2) My home button does not work.
                            3) Google Play shows paid on my bought apps on my PC, but on the tab it asks me to pay again.

And the final question (for now). There are two roms in this thread.

Anyone used both and have a preference?

                            Thanks

That's odd...the first ROM has root installed.

I'm at the firehouse today, so I may have time to whip up another ROM from that official Pipo firmware.

As I said...there are some hardware variations that may prevent that newer ROM from working on older tabs.

I will reflash and post back.

Same issues. No root. This may be why Google Play is trying to charge me again.
