Doubtful, I'm sure have used it with that version (or earlier even) and can't see the rev would affect it regardless.
Run the terminal command if you would please, so we can stop speculating on hardware. .
It will only take minutes to download the app, open the terminal and type in the command. You can even remove the app when you're done if you don't want it on there.
If it is indeed 290b, then could only speculate there was still something wrong with the card prep and it coincidentally was resolved when the reva dtb was utilized?Last edited by DEcosse; 21 July 2020, 07:28.

Can you double-check the command you provided please. I ask because on a couple you have a space between the text and the slash while another has no space and in one instance you have used a | instead of a /.
With regard to the 0.3.6 update, I note the blog seems to claim they have fixed MX Player HW audio/video freezes. What does that mean? Are they talking about the sound drop-out issue that made me switch to CoreELEC?

The command text is the same (& correct) in all three locations it appears - in the post text, in the actual terminal command on the screenshot and also the appended note typed on the image and all have the spaces and / vs | in the correct locations
It is absolutely as I typed it
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep Serial
cat (space) /proc/cpuinfo (space) | (space) grep (space) Serial
The Pipe (or vertical bar) | at least on a US Keyboard is on the same key as the back-slash (but upper level) and is deliberate in the location it is entered.
On the on-screen keyboard in the terminal app it is on the second page of punctuation keys.
That looks to be referring to freezes specifically in MX Player App - and a freeze and a drop-out are not really the same thing. I doubt that will affect your situation.
I do not believe your Audio drops are firmware related (but may be related to your settings) - again, I do not have this issue on my box on Android on any of the firmware versions I have used.
This update will not come via OTA automatically. You need manually install this update in order to use it.Last edited by DEcosse; 21 July 2020, 16:08.

I promise I will get around to the command line thing ASAP. Yesterday, I was away all evening and only returned this morning so I haven't had any time to myself.
Re: 0.3.6, the downloaded files are confusing. I have a folder named DualBoot CoreElec containing AM6_dce_0.3.6.7z and AM6_dce_0.3.6.zip as well as this lot:
I'm assuming that one of these many options needs to be placed on a USB drive so I can install it, but which one?
And, as for CoreElec, am I to update that too or ignore it and wait until there's a newer release than 9.2.3?

1.First, ignore anything regarding 'Dual Boot Folder' or files that contain 'DCE' - that is ONLY for the Ugoos Dual Boot CE system - as far as YOUR AM6 box is concerned you only have SINGLE boot firmware on your EMMC Drive.
2. You don't extract it - just keep it as a zip file
This is the file you want
You don't even have to use a USB if you download directly on your AM6 - just download the zip file - double click on the link for the AM6_ota_0.3.6.zip on the Mega page (Note: do not use the 'download as a zip' option on the Mega page - just std download because it is already a zip)
Boot to Android
Pop Out the CoreELEC card
Open Browser
Get the OTA Zip file (rather than typing in that whole link, go to Ugoos.com/blog and navigate to it from there)
Go through settings menus to the Update Section
https://youtu.be/-PxTrOe9dgA
Ignore the 'check online' suggestion at 0.29s in the video - that will not find the 0.3.6 so pointless to do that step; you're not going to be checking or downloading from here, you are going to use the already downloaded firmware from the mega link - use the folder (as demonstrated in the video at 0.35s ) to navigate to your download folder and select the 0.3.6 OTA zip file that you previously downloaded
Start the update process - nothing else to do - just let it complete the process
When it is complete you will be back to the Android System
This has no affect on your CE revision which is its own stand-alone operating system and will be upgraded (when available) from within CE.
If/When you are ready to use CE, just re-insert the card and reboot.
(I don't recall if it will reboot to CE directly, the first time after a firmware update - if it boots back into Android with the card simply inserted, power down, disconnect power jack and hold reset button while you reinsert)Last edited by DEcosse; 22 July 2020, 20:50.

So, I installed Termux and ran it as you said. Somehow I don't think the result is going to please you: 290b00001140b000005393856584d50

I'm not displeased at all - it's just data - and my responses are all based on previous data supplied
Now it is confirmed it IS a 290b (and therefor exactly the same as mine) I don't see any reason why the non-rev-a dtb should not work properly (IF the card was prepared properly).
If you're happy with the revA dtb then it's just interest value at this stage - doesn't really matter to me in great scheme of things, as long as you have something working you're content with
I expected the recovery reboot requirement (which is why I mentioned it!)
You will only need to do the recovery boot the one time again - subsequent removal/reinsertion of the card will have it boot accordingly (until of course if/when you update the Android Firmware again)

Talking of all that lost unallocated space, I note on the Ugoos blog someone posting "Would it be possible to create a seperate 'Pro' version of the firmware with more storage allocated to CoreELEC? For Pro devices an option for a 16GB/16GB split between Android & CoreELEC would give sufficient storage allocation for both, rather than losing so much space on the CoreELEC install." I have no idea why he refers to Pro devices but I do understand the loss of over 29 Gb of storage space following the install of CoreElec.
You told me that it would become available without me needing to do any formatting. According to Total Commander, there is no space on that card so I'm at a loss of what I need to do in order to recover that?
Regarding the recovery boot, I think it would have been nice if when booting I could receive the choice of which O/S I want to boot into.

That request you quoted is specifically referring to the DUAL BOOT Ugoos firmware (the DCE versions) - both the Android and the CE Operating Systems are installed on the Same Internal EMMC storage chip, therefor the space has to be divided between them. The Split is not equal and indeed the initial versions limited the CE to only 1GB - on MY request, they actually increased this to 3GB.
That requester is asking for an even 16/16 split - he mentions Pro because it is a 32GB device (which actually also would apply to the Plus) vs the base level AM6 which only has 16 GB total.
I don't think Ugoos will create separate Dual Boot firmware for the different hardware variants therefor that request as written will never happen - he might consider revising his request similar to mine is just asking for the CE partition to be further enlarged.
Regardless it does not apply to your configuration because you do not have DCE firmware installed.

I can see it in Total Commander
Simplest way to see it has definitely been created is when you are booted in CE, just look at the System Information Tab and select 'Storage' - you will see the primary partition for the Operating System and the second for the Storage Space, which in your case would be about 30GB

Under CoreELEC, I get constant video freezes (at least one per TV episode or movie) and crashes. I posted about this on the CoreELEC forum a few days ago but have not received any reply. Has anyone else experienced this?
Also, still under CoreELEC, I find I am unable to update my library whereas updating works fine when in Android. Any ideas what my be causing that?Last edited by QT-Pro; 28 July 2020, 16:38.
