I don't think we have a ROM for v2. Look for one on Vondroid.com. I'm pretty sure they have one.

2.1a has been great so far...
installed 2.1a for N101 about 2 weeks ago now and it's been great so far...the only glitch I've seen has to do with my not being able to use Beautiful Widgets with this ROM. I find it a little deceitful on the part of the manufacturers to call this a 4.2.2 build since Android 4.2 is supposed to be based on kernel version 3.4+ and the kernel bundled here is still 3.0.8+. Are we to assume that they are backporting the changes/fixes made to later kernels to their 3.0.8+ kernel? I highly doubt that's happening. Anyway, rant done and thanks for the ROM. I can now use my N101 again.

As explained in post #1, this ROM is based on a ported version made by Oma for the Aussiepad. It isn't an official factory release...since Yuandau has obviously stopped supporting this tablet. To my knowledge, no one has compiled a newer kernel.

Hopefully the post was not meant as a slam against Riley/FreakTab...

Just installed this. It seems quite smooth, only problem seems to be that when it goes to sleep it resets for some reason and when i power on it does a full boot sequence.
Does this mean I should try one the other kernels?

Just noticed that videos will not play in HW. Downloaded MX Player and sw (software) setting means videos play fine.
Also occasional quiet pops from the speaker even with sound turned off.Last edited by McrRed; 25 May 2014, 07:55.

Ok, now I'm screwed.
Device kept resetting so I thought I'd try a different kernel to 128.
Erased IDB ok
Wrote the files to flash ok
Download file failed
Run failed
Tried a few times - including exactly what I did last night to get the rom flashed. All ending in download file and run "failed".
Help. How can I get out of this cycle?
EDIT:
ok, panic over.
I let the tablet go cold overnight and started charging again...I was able to get it into recovery so at least not bricked anymore.

OK. On my continuing saga.
I managed to install tuen's ROM which gave the same problem. Uninstalled that and managed to get 2.1a with kernel 21 loaded.
This worked fabulously and I had a new tablet to play with. Had.
It worked perfectly for a day so I had a brainwave ... let's try restarting the tablet to solidify the ROM flash. Hmph. Back to square one. Tablet randomly restarts after 10 mins or so and keeps restarting every now and then.
Hmph.

Consider yourself lucky your N101 has lasted this long. Bob's N101 died several months ago....and mine bit the dust last month.
I think the known faulty battery circuitry which plagued the N101 from the start finally caught up with us.
I would consider waiting a few weeks for an rk3288 tablet.
I'm pretty happy with my Pipo 3188's...but you may as well go with the latest.Randy

Avoid pre-sells on anything.
Pipo seems to be the best at issuing firmware updates.
They have had a wide variety of RK3188 tablets...so I expect the same with RK3288's in the next few months.
Also, there are some good MTK based tablets with 8 core processors...but I'm still learning ROM development with that platform.Randy

OK. I couldn't let it lie.
Perhaps I should start a new thread but if you'll bear with me.... My N101 is back from the dead (mostly).
It still reboots at regular intervals but I've found if I keep music running (on zero volume) and don't use the on/off button the tablet works fine. Therefore something in the sleep process is triggering the reboot.
Is this something you recognize from compiling the kernel/rom? How can I track down the offending process?
