Did you try flashing the M8HD ROM with the M7 kernel? That's an alternative just for troubleshooting. I really liked that combination and was going to use it......until Pipo put out another new update for the M7P the other day.
Yes, I've erased IDB each time. I'm going to try and flash the original ROM. I'm not sure what flashing the M8HD ROMith the M7 kernal would do. I'm currrently on your 1.6 ROM which was working near perfecly for me before I tried flashing 1.8, but it now has the same problem.

Well, flashing the original ROM using RK batch tool didn't help. It looks like I have a dud screen or something. No matter what I do I have a horizontal line across the screen that does not respond to touches. Damn.

Marty73, have you used 'Restore' or 'Update' option? Restore flashes only system partition image. And do not try to preserve any valuable software/backups, anything but your personnal documents photos etc. Just format external memory too.
Is this non-responsive stripe resembling something like lower tools panel? See, what I mean? Like coordinates are shifted for touch in some way?

I used the update option. I'm not trying to preserve anything. Haven't inserted any external memoy yet.

Afraid I don't really see what you mean. The non-responsive section lines up exactly with the quick settings bar (wireless, bluetooth, etc) on the home page. If I rotate the tablet 180 degrees the non-responsive section is no longer on that bar, but is now an inch above it. In other words it stays in exactly the same spot as though that stripe of the screen is damaged. I can get to things in that area by rotating the screen, which puts them in a different area.

Hmm, looks like it doesn't happen to all but with 3 ppl affected, there is definitely something is the ROM that is playing havoc with the touch screen and it seem to stay even with wiping and re-flashing older ROMs..

Hope PIPO guys release a new one that solve this quick.

Sorry can't be of much help. m just a user, nothing about ROM programming.

I'll just wait for the next release.

                  Thanks.

GPS is still not working. In fact it never worked on my m7p! It was turned on but no GPS data was received. I'm thinking that it is a hardware problem. BTW 1.8 works great on my tab! Thx!

I have problems with my GPS on m7p - but it was working... in official firmware from the box it needed quite some time to lock to GPS ...about 3-5 minutes (included GPStest app was not working ... but with google maps it worked quite well), I also tried GPS while driving in car with offline saved google map... after locking - it worked like a charm.

I currently still have 1.6 and it now really seems that GPS does not work... I tried to lock location for 25 minutes with no results (outside on open space).

I never tried gps with the official rom. I will try that when the next version of official rom is released.

For GPS problem, download fastergps https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...astergps&hl=fr
Choose your continent and your country. Save and reboot

                            Download clocksync https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...lockSync&hl=fr
                            and synchronize time.

Go outside, open gpstest and the first fix should come in 1-2mn https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....gpstest&hl=fr

I'm on 1.8 and just tried the gps and it works. Takes a while to lock but after that it seems to work fine.

Not working for me, using standard flash method. Well the rom installs and boots fine, but my tablet is almost in a frozen state its so slow. touchscreen isnt responding, shutdown/reboot not working. waited almost an hour no change. Its as if something is using 100% CPU and memory, thats why i waited.

tried 3x with same result. back to 1.7a for me
