    MK808/B Overclocked Kernels Released

Here is the first overclocked MK808B kernels.

Can also flash this to MK808B Digitop Sep 2013 Rom from PC if you don't want to replace kernels in zip rom and reflash Digitop Rom.

Remember to rename the kernel to kernel.img and replace it in the zip rom file, also boot.img if you want GPU > 400 Mhz. Don't flash on other roms as it may brick your device.
Don't flash this with RKFlashTool v1.37 as it will brick your device. Here is the rom

    MK808 Android 4.2 Kernels

Choose the correct kernel for your version of Android firmware.
You also have to flash boot.img to run GPU higher than 400 Mhz.

Highest overclocked kernel is - CPU 1608 Mhz, GPU 533 Mhz & DDR 1066 Mhz.
The DDR speed is 533Mhz but it gets multiplied by 2, so 533Mhz is actually 1066 Mhz.
Use these at your own risk!!!

    Instructions to flash
    1. Flash with RKAndroidTool v1.37 and only check kernel and boot and select the correct
    location for these files.
    2. Then click Run or Flash rom, don't click Erase IDB.
    3. The Flash Tool can be downloaded from -
http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...loptool_v1-37/ or you can use the flash tool in Finless Bob 2.1 rom.

People can post their Antutu scores to see if it makes a difference(look at GPU and DDR values).
Please don't reply with someone else's full scores posted to avoid double posts and to keep the posts shorter so it's easier to read.

Also it would be nice if people can post the kernel that is the most stable and don't overheat the MK808B with stock heat sink so that everyone can use that kernel.

Use SetCPU app to increase/reduce the CPU Speed if needed.

Some people reported that some of the kernels don't work properly so use at your own risk.

WOW!!...millions thanks for this kernel. This is what so many people waiting for. I will try it this weekend.

      Great thread!

I am a noob, can you explain me how to install?
I have tried with RKAndroidTool V1.37 (that was available with Finless BOB 2.1) and all the files from Finless ROM and just using your image and kernel, but after, I have connected the MK808B to the tv and all I can see is black, nothing happening.

Is the image your MK808B_digitopMod_MINIX_NEO-G4_port (0730) _Sep2013 rom?

Please update your original post with the install instructions.
      Best regards.

Maybe you flashed the Android 4.1 kernel. For Finless 2.1 you have to take the Android 4.2 - 3.0.36 kernel.

@mo123: in the filenames the highest ram frequency is 533, you wrote it is 1066, why is that?

Amazing, I didn't think this day would come.

Where do these kernels come from? Who made them?

Edit: Wait, there is also 4.2 overclocked kernels?? Good grief if this all works well...

I guess they are auto-patched using phjanderson's rkpatchomatic. This nice little tool is able to patch any rk3066/rk3188 kernel to enable overclocking.

I was able to install "kernel1080_cpustock_gpu466_ddr466" kernel with Finless 2.1 image and all other files from Finless.
Antutu 11024 on first run with cpu set to interactive.

Like you said, because I didn`t flash your image.boot the GPU was not overclocked. So the results are not important.

Yes, I used that tool to overclock the kernels and 'RK3xxx Firmware Tools' to edit the boot.img.

You should also flash the boot.img because if you flash a kernel with GPU > 400 Mhz, the GPU will only run at 266 Mhz instead of 466 Mhz as in your case.

The DDR speed gets multiplied by 2 so 533 Mhz is actually 1066 Mhz. I think the DDR Nand in RK3066 is DDR2 and in RK3188 it is DDR3.

'Systems implementing the follow-on technology to DDR, called DDR2 began to appear in mid-2004. DDR2 achieves speeds beyond that of DDR, delivering bandwidth of up to 8.5 GB per second. Frequently, DDR2 based systems can use memory installed in pairs to run in "dual channel mode" to increase memory throughput even further.'

                        If I just flash your boot.img + kernel.img with RKAndroidTool v1.37 the MK808B doesn`t start, I get a black screen.

And i had Finless Bob 2.1 installed previous.

Can you check what`s wrong? (I might be doing something wrong probably).

Also, is it possible to upload 1080p kernels that are compatible with Android 4.1 so I can test it with you Rom and Lewi`s?

                        Thanks.

I don't have 1080p Android 4.1 kernels for MK808B, if someone can post a link or upload it I can overclock it.

Can someone test the Android 4.1 boot.img and see if if works?

I just have tested your 4.1 boot.img with Lewi`s Rom and it works.
                            You can get a 1080p boot.img from Finless 1.7.

Will upload all 4 kernels and boot images shortly, don't unzip everything as it's more than 2GB in size. Over 320 kernels in zip file. It is compressed with 7z to 19mb in size.
