So , I downloaded the updated images , since I used the 1st released images when I started the post

i guess balbes150 changed to way these images load , the previous images booted straight , the new images , will boot ONLY if you manually modify the uboot environment and set it to boot from emmc1 instead of emmc0

    I’ve successfully booted 4.19.219

Hardware accelerated drivers are not installed , so like in previous releases , sources , and even deb files can be compiled , downloaded from firefly ‘ rk. GitHub , the same if you need ffmpeg , mpv , or anything with included rk acceleration support

I tried changing the cpu voltages and frequencyes because I think it is a stability problem, but nothing changed. I can run the server on Android with termux but that's hurting the performance. What should I do now?

And why is armbian and android only seeing 4GB of ram if it has 8GB? Android was seen 8GB at the very beginning but after I reinstalled it, it only see 4.
Realy you know google find all those answers !!!!

"I tried changing the cpu voltages and frequencyes " your sure with a dtb your special !

      just build armbiam from scratch

and do it just with dts then the nonsens of dtb copy paste etc of trigu75

and change BOOT_FDT_FILE="rockchip/rk3566-firefly-roc-pc.dtb" in BOOT_FDT_FILE="rk3566-x96_x6.dtb" in
      build//config/boards/station-m2.conf

      and build a image

How can I get this dtb? The link you sent is a part of a totally different project. I think the name changing is unnecessary, because I can simply overwrite the original file with the same name. Am I wrong? I found patch folders in the build folder but I don't know where to copy your file or what shoudl I do with it. Can you explain in more details?

Does that matter where I get the file from? I mean, does the kernel influence the dtb or is it just a file which usable on any kernel and system?

Sorry if I made stupid questions but as I said I'm new in Linux and I didn't find answers to these.
If you don't want to help than don't, i get it, but this wasn't meant to be trolling.

                I am with shaggy013

it appears , asdosjani , based on your answers , that you have no idea what a dts , dtb file is , or what is used in compilations ( based on your Patch file sentence )

If you don’t know / understand how to work on uboot prompt , don’t touch your device

The same for dts ‘ dtb files

you said you are new to Linux ... then you still have a very very very long way to go before you “play” with embedded Linux ( which is what is used , since the whole system is compiled , built for a specific piece of hardware , SOC )

I got the official firmware for the 8GB verion and I extracted it. If someone needs it, here it is:

This is a buggy firmware , the last one which fixes the one you posted (0630) is (0705) was released a week later

this is the one I am using on hk1 r2

firmwares won't help with getting linux on a box

a dtb is a start but only for a downstream kernel

and instead of armbian you got more options for getting linux to work on a downstream kernel
                      less trouble

                      and for the difficult way

I only got this, what you are sent is for the 4GB model and its not recognising 8GB which the board has, only 3.7 is usable.

I have the 4G version , very stable .... , is rooted , you missed my point anyway ... by doing a diff between my dtb and yours can show you exactly where is the memory set , and power that enables your missing 4G

as for other OS .. I successfully booted : armbian , early firefly Ubuntu , early station os , and station android 11 ( with just a dtb change )

you wonder why “early” ... well they recently added some type of hardware checking , although the os loads fine , GUI gets blocked and shows a message saying not a firefly device , and firefly url , then it shuts down

The problem is that I can boot to armbian with both of the dtb, the 4 and 8GB, but if I check it for example with htop it's only shows 4GB no matter what I do.

However in Android it's working fine with the 8GB dtb.

Edit: This it the only difference between the two dtb.
