HDMI problems
Hi folks,
Newcomer here, want to thank Finless for the great job, first.
Got a new Minix Neo X7 and switched to Finless 1.7 firmware instantly. I tried many kernels and apps, had some crashes, I'll try to make a list of what worked and what didn't, someday.
In the mean time I have a problem that I do not know how to handle.
At home, trying the box on an 1 year old 1080p Samsung is allright. When I try a 4y Philips, I got the image on the screen at 1080p@50/60Hz for a 4-5 seconds, than the TV says "no signal" for 2-3 seconds and reverts to the image, and so on.
When I switch the output of the Neo X7 to 720p@60Hz everything is ok. The TV set is ok, never had any problems connecting whatsoever. The HDMI ports/cables (tried many) seems all right. Is this something in the kernel? Should I try another kernel?
Thx to all of you, for the time spent writing here...

Some users have gotten around this by installing an HDMI splitter between the X7 and the TV but there doesn't seem to be any universal remedy.

NEW - Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.7 ROM

BTW: Finless - I've already asked but you didn't answer - I'd like to take an 007e kernel and patch it with overclockomatic, did you have any troubles with this when prepared your rom's kernel based on original 007? If yes - how did you overcome them?
Thanks!

2 Finless.
Great FW but u removed from 007 some script or code that redirect to default sound output when A2 mouse connected. (Sage Airmouse.)
Maybe u saw that string inside ? Or maybe we can set manually soundoutput to needed value.

Also, with OCed kernels, the cheap air mouse I have (PNI Airfun..) has erratic cursor movements.
In the future, you are right, those bugs could be solved, being software ones (I think..). But I still have a week or so to return my product and get another media player, thinking about something based on a RTL1186DD: less facilities but more stable and good 1080p playback.
Edit: the answer to my question:
