Default applications don't work on RileyROM 1.4?

Yesterday afternoon I successfully flashed my new Pipo M6 Pro 3G with RileyROM 1.4, and then installed all my apps, including Nova Launcher.

When I exited the Play Store, it asked me whether to use Launcher or Nova Launcher, and I chose Nova and hit "Always".

That should have been it, right?

Not so. Every time I get asked again. And again. And again. Same with which web browser to use. I pick one, hit "Always", and next time it asks me again. And again.

    You get the picture :-(

Does anyone have a suggestion what might be the cause of this, or how to fix it?

Apart from this, I am very pleased with both the device (considering its price) and the ROM.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Wolf

Sorry for the long text. I hope there is a problem solver that can help me out

I guess that reinstalling the drivers is the problem :/
I tried to uninstall them. But that just seemed to unmount the device or something.
When I got my device connected and not in masstorage mode the Device Manager calls the device Rockchip _usb USB device. When I uninstall the drivers and try to install the drivers I got in the RileyRom folder it says "ok" but when I reconnect nothing has changed.

When I try out the other flashtool, RKBatchTool, and press switch when my device is connected I get a "Unknown usb device" in Device Manager. But I am not able to install the drivers from my RileyRom folder. It just says that "the latest drivers is installed".

And it doesn't seem that the drivers I want to have installed is installed. Because when I manually start my device into flash mode (volume+ and power) the device doesn't connect at all.

Has anybody had this problem or am I just doing it wrong?
      Thanks guys!

Successfully installed this! Everything seems to work well. I love the full screen option by hiding the software buttons and the quick boot. Had a lower antutu score though. And it seems that when I launch my games, i just get a black screen. I think it still needs to be fixed.

I keep on opening antutu, but it keeps on exiting and not completing the test. and my games are note working well. is it the rom, or the restoration from titanium?

Yesterday I followed Randy's instruction and flashed 1.4 with no issues. ROM is significantly faster and smoother, everything is working so far and makes me happy using Pipo M6pro 3G. Randy, thank you very much for your contribution and hard work.
Can comebody send me original M6pro stock bootanimation file (bootanimation.zip located in /system/media/) because I didn't make backup unfortunately? Thanks in advance.

What os are you using? W8? W8.1?

Had you ever plugged your tablet in the computer before starting the flash process? (I am trying to find out if the problem is that my computer has automatically installed the usb drivers before I started the flash process.)

I use Windows7 64. Driver installation is a painfull process but thanks to DriverInstall.exe (included in Riley's pack) everything went smoothly. If you have already driver installed uninstall it with this tool and install again. Hope this helps.

Ok. I use w8.1, I wonder if that could be the problem.

Should I do this with the tablet plugged in our not?

Can someone tell if the w8 drivers should work for w8.1 or are we unsure?

                      Thanks for the help!

Tablet should be turned on and USB cable connected to the PC.

Did you try the Rockchip driver installer app I put in the kit?

Yes I've used the Rockchip driver installer app, Driverinstall.exe

I just did it and when I then tried putting my device in flash mode, using Rom flash tool v1.37, it says "device can not do switch, because of no drive"
So this is where I am stuck at the moment. Does this help any bit?

This thread was a bit interesting:

                              and this http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/9557...rk-with-win81/
Anyone of you using windows 8.1 and got this working without a problem?

I will try theese alternativs out. Reading a lot and trying out.

This will maby get me somewhere. What do you think?

Try running the RKBatchtool in the "alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool" folder.

If your device shows up as a pink box, click "switch".

Then go back to the flash tool and see if it sees the tablet in loader mode.

You can also do it manually by holding volume+ and press power. After a few seconds your tablet will show up on flash/loader mode.
