I'm uploading v1.4 now with KitKat.
There must be a lot of downloading today, because the upload is slooooooow.

The first firmware releases had different versions between 3g and wifi. The only difference was to hold out 3g modem drivers in the wifi versions to improve battery consumption issues.
Current releases are for both versions. They were able to fix the battery problem with a patched driver we actually started using first.
So, as far as I know...there's not a compatibility issue between the two versions.
Yeah, the lack of compatible radio frequencies for US carriers kinda sucks.

They just experiment their new ui. Nothing interesting... We already tried on our M7Pro and this is some widgets added. Nothing else.
For the final KitKat look at this below (Randy's post)
Maybe the dev team is only 3 students, Anna for international relation ship and the boss who win a lot of money... Pipo tablet are overpriced now. Their new device is the M7T ou U8T (same specs than M7 and U8 with new feature added: GSM.) Do you really want to call with your tablet ? pfff... And the GSM WCDMA bands are not compatible with the USA bands...

I'm still hoping they finish what they started.Originally posted by rrileypm View PostI offered to join their firmware testing team. They declined, because their firmware developers don't speak or read English. Oh well.......Originally posted by raxy View PostEnough said !
There is a deadly roadblock, How can you imagine to handle android kernel and roms without reading and writing english ?
pipo is a no go for me anymore, I do regret I have bet on this brand hoping they could emerge someday as a major player on the market.
Shiny hardware specs are not all, being able to play the android game in first league with some openmindness and as a world citizen will be my driving criteria for my next chinese tablet, probably not from continental china anymore.
