Lets see if custom kernel can improve it, with stock kernel I got about 14Mbps on wifi and with vustom I got about the same, I will try to test with the old rkwifi.ko if speed is better and stability is the same.

I am using the finless bob 1080p kernel with the Quickshot rom and get 1.8mb/sec over wifi. The router is in the adjancet room. For me this has been he most stable rom.

Used with Neo X7 and Mele F10 Pro
3 Shutdowns, i think from unreliable apps.(chinese crap)
1 Freeze, don't know why.
Its stable, its quick, movies play well.
Perfect rom for me.
Build in app/option to change the lcd density, and the screensaver settings would make it perfect.

1.8MB is quite good for a SMB over Wifi

Its the big B (as in bytes) as in MB/sec. I was very surprised as well hence me grabbing my smart phone and taking a picture :-). When downloading its always between 1 and 1.8 MB/s.

Screen Off Time

Is there a way to change / increase the time before the screen turns off.
I found something in build.prop (ro.rk.screenoff_time)
I thought i better ask before doing something stupid.

And the test should better be done with tools such as 'speedtest.net' (store). Such programs gives us the maximum speed possible.

Question / Feedback

Leolas I have your rom installed and am using the finless 1080p kernel. The only three issues I have had after heavy use this last week are as follows: 1) When watching 720p content on occasion the playback with start to stutter / hang and then the minix will shutdown 2) Sometimes when I leave the minix on over night I awake to find that the minix has shutdown. 3) Twice now the air mouse (tronsmart tsm-01) has been extremely slow. A reboot fixes that issue. I do have keep screen active checked under developer options. Was wondering if you could provide me a path forward. Would a debug file help? Thanks.

This is a team rom, not only my rom
Using finless 1080p kernel? what is this kernel? The rom comes with a 1080p kernel, and using certain video players or xbmc some videos can lags a bit if you use the stock kernel, that is because we recommend to install the overclocked RAM kernel at 720, with this kernel all videos run great for me.
About the tronsmart remote, we have some reports about freezes and restarts using it. We are working on it, but none of us in the team have this remote, and the bug seems to appears in all custom bassed in the last 007 firmware and in the official rom too

Hi,

Regarding the Tronsmart remote issue, MINIX (admin) in minixforums.com had posted that this is due to the conflict with the Minix Airmouse driver. He goes on to say that he could not remove the Minix Airmouse driver from the firmware.
Can you do that?

Random restarts

I thing I have a defective device, it restarts every ~20min., I've tested changing from Finless 1.8 Rom to this ROM and the problem persist.

Is there a way to know if its overheating, defective ram, bad rom partition or something I could try?

One happy 'customer' here. I have to point out i don't use the unit for a lot of things, it mainly runs Netflix and xbmc from lewy(thanku2). But it's snappy, so i'm happy!

I will use it a lot in the upcoming holidays and will certainly bring some feedback when i find a bug or something. For now just a simple thanks!!! Keep up the good work!

BSDroid works well (Ballstreams app), in case anyone is into NBA.

I do think that changing the build prop lcd density setting to 240 is almost a must though, and should probably be the default in future releases (or, at least, an easily accessible toggle). Home Screen details areway too small otherwise.

I bumped that up, and set text to 'Huge' and now it's very useable.

We allways prefer to maintain the device with his own name, but we are open to all sugestions, I don't know if there are any apps that can't be installed. What app do you need?
