Everything works perfekt.

My Orginal Firmware worked with google+ / Google Movies etc. but flashed stock firmware 2.0 from geekbuying not? Buy my t-r42 2.0 from a german reseller and it was not spoofed - very strange.

With your Firmware - spoofed device setting everything worked again.

1080p Kernel a little bit slow. Waiting for overclocked kernel.

But one question what is "-update option under settings< advanced" ?

Downloading a Speedtest at the Moment, download of 13Mb: 15 minutes, lol ! Waited 2 weeks for the device (ordered via Dhlexpress, shipping 3-5 days) but Geekbuying didnt manage to send it and now that, no custom rom will work, no wireless connection... Had a s400 Android Tvstick here, worked perfect with the same cpu and gpu, something is wrong here!

Thouse with wifi problem please try stock rom and let me know if wifi is still slow. I will try to fix it but i need to know this.

ok, found it...
At first after installing stockrom i directly tried youtube and it worked fine, much faster then before...
Then i started some speedtest runs
1st run:
Ping:65ms
DL:1.6Mbps
UL:0.9MBS

2nd run:
Ping:67ms
DL:0.2Mbs
UL:0.82Mbs

3rd run:
Ping:80ms
DL:0.17Mbs
UL:0.4Mbs

4rd run:
Ping:0.56ms
DL:0.11Mbs
UL:0.75Mbs

5th run:
Ping:58ms
DL:0.46Kbs
UL:1.19Mbs

Done with Ookla Speedtest,
Router 1m away from Device



It seems that directly after booting up the wifi is faster, rebootet the Device and did speedtest directly:

Ping: 95ms
DL: 3.04Mbs
UL 0,25Mbs

Dont know whats wrong, other Tvbox (cozyswan s400), Asus tablet, Asus laptop, Lenovo Handy work fine, its only the T-r42 making trouble.

Speedtest Tablet, same wifi network, same distance to Rooter:

Ping:45ms
DL:14.4Mbs
UL:0.56Mbs
reproducable, DL stays between 14 and 15 Mbs

Do you have "n" router? try to set it just to b/g

cant say anything about wifi, powerlan FTW
but it runs a little bit slow, some online videos in hd are a bit laggy
so i also request for an oc kernel or an optimized version

Did the speedtest several times, always ~3Mbs
Then turned Bluetooth on, ~0.2Mbs
Turned BT off ~0.2Mbs
Left Bt off, turned wifi off and on again ~3Mbs

Why the hell did i pay more money for BT and bought a BT-Airmouse when wifi doesnt work with it anymore???

Btw 3Mbs complained to a android tablet with 14Mbs working is not that fast but enough to watch low quality youtube videos...

Can anyone do a Speedtest to compare, please?

I ran the same speedtest and like you was getting around 1.8 mbs. I went to advanced settings in wifi and turned off the wifi optimization that bumped the test speed up to around 5mbs. Then I remembered seeing a youtube video about these little devices that claimed rotating the connection from antenna had a dramatic effect. So I took my box apart rotated the snapon connector about a quarter turn to the right reran the speed test.................guess what I am now getting 15 mbs same as all my other devices.............

So you just turned the external Antenna?
Edit: That really fixed it!!! If i turn the Antenna that its flat laying on the Desk (looks a little ugly) it works and i get about 12 Mbs... Strange behavior...

I'm not sure what you mean, could you point us to that video?

I found one little bug. If you click in the WLAN Symbol @ the statusbar there is a 0% signal strenght from the WLAN but i have 100% and full speed.

one question what is "-update option under settings< advanced" ?
