EDIT: Mine does not like the 1416/400/533 kernel either. Still dropping too many frames. Testing ddr 466 now. Back in a few.

Should add I have a 2000mA PS for the MK and an additional 500mA PS just for USB devices on a hub. The 1608/400/533 kernel wouldn't even hold on to the USB HDD I had plugged in long enough for XBMC to search for videos.
    I have a 2000mA only for the mk808
They are very sensitive to power supply

1416/400/466 is also a no go for me. This is not looking good.

      Up next is ddr 400.

Yes. The rom in this thread. I'm wiping the cache and doing a factory reset before each flash. Both MX and XBMC just can't play video without dropping too many frames.

The previous rom is better than what I'm experiencing so far.

EDIT: This will probably be my last try before just using another known good kernel from another rom. It's just too unstable with any of the gpu 400 kernels from what I'm seeing.

Also take into account my MK seems buggy, so I guess until somebody who has a solid one can test things as much as I am, it's still up in the air.

Also another note. When using this rom with the gpu 400 kernels video playback is actually better with H/W decoding turned off. That tells me the gpu is not liking the 400 speed.

At first it was the best. Then it gradually started randomly stuttering at certain times in a video. It's still very stable unless playing video.

I'm finished with this one. Gonna smash it and wait for my 809 to come in. Might pick up another 808B in the future, but for now I'm tired of it.

You probably have a damaged unit.
A RK3188 device will play video much better, since it has extreme overclocked kernels and vsync patches to stop stuttering in videos.

Rockchip is going to release new devices next year so for other people that have MK808/B devices and are short of cash it's better to wait and not buy Rk3188 devices now as you will have to upgrade twice.

I agree. I just tried the latest official version, and it seems the best so far. Still dropping frames in Archos, but I'm going to try an ouya build of XBMC (actually SPMC now) to see what happens. Still have the 809 coming, though.

I just loaded this rom the other day; it seems a little laggy compared to Finless 1.7 so far but I haven't spent much time with it.

Anyone else care to their there experience with this rom compared to other roms? I'm just trying to find the fastest rom; might end up loading my backup of Finless 1.7.

In my experience mo's last rom is faster and more stable than this one. On mine it was better than fin's too.

Thanks for the info; are you back on Mo's last rom? I should check it out.

The rom is slow for a few seconds when it starts up because of all the apps, but then works fast.
XBMC playback is the best on this rom as this XBMC is optimised for the Rockchip VPU.
On the nightly XBMC versions I can't even get videos to play, only audio plays.

Also got an Antutu score of 12702, a little slower then the 'Digitop 3.5.5 Nov rom' as that rom is running at 1.6 Ghz and this kernel at 1.4 Ghz. You can always use a faster kernel, http://www.multiupload.nl/L2LWQ0N3GC that I made if you want. I included a 1.4Ghz kernel as it's more stable and won't cause more unsafe overheating.

For people that also have other devices or want to try out a different XBMC, here are links to all of them.

                            Different XBMC versions
Nightly - Unstable, video playback problems on Rockchip RK3066

XBMC with CedarX - This is optimised for Allwinner's CedarX VPU to playback 1080p videos.

XBMC AMlogic build - This is optimized for Amlogic devices. Amlogic devices so far has the best XBMC video playback.

XBMC MiniX Beta - Is optimized for Rockchip RK3066/RK3188 VPU's. All Rockchip devices should use this build but it's actually exclusive to MiniX Rockchip devices at the moment. This digitop v3.5.5 rom contain a modified version and bypass to make it work(Thanks to Flumpster).

XBMC Ouya - This build is optimized for the Ouya console with Nvidia Tegra 3 hardware. There is also an unofficial SPMC build that works better on other Rockchip devices.

I'll try it one more time without modifying anything. I really do think something is wrong with my hardware, though. It's just never worked quite right even with the stock rom.

Installed and right now seems silky and fast.
                                Not yet tried XBMC.
                                Thanks to devel
