RESOLVED: M6Pro bricked after installing RR1.7

also did not flag the loader before flashing the m6pro. I was reading in the instructions, this should not be necessary since I'm not upgrading to another android level... I was wrong.

so now I opened the case, shortened (bypassed?) the pins 7+8 and 8+9 a few times and tried to boot up... but I always get the PIPO logo and its not possible to erase NAND.

I have a "Micron" nand 1340, with a longer number (29f128g080cf5aba). two chips.

I followed the steps of Schmo exactly. Any ideas? maybe other pins?

I found a first step to the solution. a little blank spot on the NAND marks the pin where I should start counting. did that, shortened pin 8+9 and I received a response on the PC. But the tablet is always displayed as "unknown device". since this is the same PC/USB-slot where I bricked it, this is kind of strange

Tried it several times, suddenly the hardware manager listed my tablet. so all the magic was the not-sandisk-NAND.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to thank you for this post, I recovered my Pipo M6 Max following your instructions. If that helps anybody, mine is Micron 1340 as well. What I did is a short between pins 8 & 9 (or 6-7, or 7-8, who knows, I tried all of them) . It took me some time to get it done. You just have to look for the small point (a little hole) in the nand chip next to the battery, that's pin 1, an count until you get to pin 8 or so, and try around that zone. In my case I had to do it quickly because the PC was able to recognize the tablet for 5 or 6 seconds. I'll give some additional details based on my experience:

- Connecting the carger didn't work for me, it had to be done with the tablet disconnected.
- I had to keep pressed the switching button and the short circuit, or I lost the connection.
-The first time I was able to erase the IDB, it dit it in 5 seconds but trying to load a ROM didn't work. The second time, it took the same time but I was able to load an image with RKBatchTool.
-I tried to go back from KitKat to Jelly Bean (setting the tick in the loader and everything), and I bricked it again, so it seems there's no turning back , or at least it's not that simple.

That's it, I hope somebody finds it helpful.

I confirm that the procedure in post #18 in this thread works. I hard bricked my M9 Pro 3G (I cannot say what did I do; it's unlikely I did a 4.4 to 4.2 flash without checking Loader, so beware that the tablet can be bricked by some other reasons, but I don't remember what happened exactly). OS is win7 64 bits. First, the Device Manager showed it when pressing Power in the tablet, disappearing when I released the button; after a couple of failed flash attempts, it went into a worst state, and nothing I tried could wake it up. I tried every key combination, and nothing worked, the PC didn't react to any connection/disconnection. I didn't even know if the battery was charged or not, because I had left it charging overnight but in the morning both the tablet and the power brick were cold, meaning that it had charged, and stopped, or that it had consumed the remaining charge overnight and it was empty and without software, there was no possibility of charging. Luckily, it was charged, but the tablet felt dead. One detail can help someone here: last night the red LED was on all the time when I left it plugged in. This morning, the LED was off and blinked for a hundredth of a second when plugging the power in, and then stayed off. That means, at least in my case, that it was charged. Since it doesn't use battery when it's so "dead", it doesn't heat up and I performed all the procedure without knowing if it was beyond hope. The next step was the datasheet of my NAND chips. I have 32 GB, hence MT29F128G08CFABAB, but it's enough to search for 29F64G08C, the rest of the letters are options that don't affect the pinout. Then look for the corner where pin 1 is. There is a darker circle there. My chips had another pair of circles on opposite corners, which is bloody confusing, but it's been a while since I opened home computers again; the real mark is a circle in a corner, and the opposite corner is free of any marks. The single circle is the corner for pin 1. Then, looking at the datasheet, there is not any indication that pins 8 & 9 will "reset" anything, but I tried anyway. After inserting a pin in between and pressing Power, Finless ROM Flash Tool v1.37 (included in Riley ROM 3.0.1 tools), changed from "no found rockchip" to "found rk maskrom device"... I couldn't believe my eyes. After I released Power, the message stayed, so I erased IDB and flashed the whole ROM (with loader checked) and all went well.

My tablet has two NAND chips, I tried the short on both but only the chip closer to the inside "worked". I don't know the reason, maybe the "stuck" chip was that one and not the other, I can't say for sure, since I tried both, in between pins 8 & 9. Incredible as it is, the tablet is back to life and nothing is broken (except Android itself, I really like iPads better) but I'm glad I have my shitty Android back again.

I pluged in the wall charger and then it worked! Mayby the battery was empty

Short how to for other people:
1. Open the tab
2. Open the flash tool.
3. Connect the tab to the pc
4. Connect the tab to the wall charger
5. Shorting pin 8+9 at the NAND witch is next to the battery (in case of Sandisk NAND) see this: http://abload.de/img/nand0xbuy.jpg
6. Power up the tab
7. It should appear in MaskMode
8. Erase IDB
9. Make sure that you have selected the loader and the rest you want to flash
10. Click Flash Rom

That's it.

Trial No1 with the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7
I load it up and it appears Blue box




I have downloaded the original freeware from the official Pipo website. I selected the Firmware and I pressed Restore button (even if I press Upgrade button, it does the same) and it appears the following error.



Trial No2 With the RomFlash Tool v1.37

It recognises it as MaskRom Rock Usb.
I press Erase Nand IDB.



After that I press Flash Rom and it appears the following error



If I unclick #1 Loader ...after having pressed the Flash Rom, I see the following image.



I have tried all the following versions, but it all goes the same.



What can I do ??? Please help !
As it has been previously said, the cable and the operating system (win7 64 bit) do not have any problem, because with that specific ones, I had installed all the previous versions of Riley Rom and they were pretty functional. This procedure, I describe above, I have tried also in Win XP, Win 10, unfortunately with the same result.

I couldn't turn on my wifi on my Pipo M6 Pro, therefore I tried to fix the problem by switiching back to JB to fix the problem. Unfortunateley I bricked my Pipo. I followed the instruction of riley and schmo and now my Pipo is back from the dead. THANK YOU for sharing your knowlegde!!!!! I still have this wifi issue (maybe I have to resolder), but today I am the happiest Pipo-owner. Guys You are the best!!!!
