The firmware works just like the stock one.
However, the video playback stutters a lot and if a download is being done, the whole system kind of crashes. Wouldn't it be possible to extract the kernel from this .img and install it over a custom 4.2 ROM?

All the custom ROMs work fine, only missing both WiFi and Bluetooth...

    Edit:

Tried the following 4.4 from the same device the OP found and it works!

That's great news. I'll try asap.
I see it's a stock rom and it is not rooted. Have you succesfully rooted yours?

      Cheers

dunno, never had the need to measure it. A fairly acceptable time in any case, within the minute I guess.

            Hi,

Video stuttering is gone. Tried from USB, LAN or UPNP/DLNA and it worked flawlessly.
I used RootGenius to root mine. I wasn't able to install the missing drivers to root it using KingoRoot and RootGenius automatically downloaded and installed them, and the root was sucessfull.

If someone willing to flash it, please try this one first:

Supposedly it has 1080p with a few terminal commands. As I already have my dongle fully operacional and I use it very often, I cannot test this one.

I were waiting for 5 min and still no boot.
Which tool are you using for flash?

But does it go into the boot screen? It says 'Smart Box' on the boot animation here. The first boot always takes a bit 'longer' (about ~1 minute).
Did the Batch Tool flashed it properly without errors? I can only flash them using an older XP laptop, all the flash tools I used on Windows 8.1 wouldn't work.
The 4.2 one that the OP found won't work either?

I tried the kitkat and one of stocks, one more to go.
No errors the flash finished without any problem.
Im using win7 64bit, but I don't think the win is the problem, I have succeed with other roms
but without working wifi ant bt.

can u give me the link that u used?

Tried the kitkat rom linked by zepedro and it seems to work fine. No video stuttering, wifi and BT are ok. Will try the 1080p rom later, first I must manage to obtain root on this one but apparently I can't enter usb debugging mode.
zepedro, as you're the one who has succesfully rooted it, could you have a look? I posted about the issue here

edit: found the solution: removed AC adapter and powered directly from pc's usb port through OTG port on device. Oh, and I was so blind I didn't notice you have to turn dev options ON, otherwise they're all grayed out.

I used the CS968 MTK KITKAT ROM 4.4 the 20140419 version (this one)

I had to use the 2000mA power supply to get it booting past the SMART BOX logo the first time....you should give it a try if you are still struggeling with your boot

I flashed this one today, but it is for AP6210 wifi module. Got back to previous rom without testing the video, so I can't tell you nothing about this one (apart from the fact that you won't have wifi nor BT). Oh and it appears to be already rooted, too.
