Ugoos UT2 - Reviews?

Since there are seemingly obvious differences (and maybe I missed it but) could you please put where you bought your respective UT2 units from (vendors)?

Dealsprime.com Don't buy there...they put it on the s l o w e s t boat from china and I sorta feel like I been ripped off...only because mine got a EU power supply w/US adapter (it sux keeps popping out), has a RED light On/Standby modes never changes from red. Makes me feel like I might have a RK3188T inside but it's working real well. No streaming issues or lag or anything....

All in all, sumpin' just don't feel right about it.....

This board I couldn't flash a custom rom onto, whereas my other UT2 8GB box I was able to.

Can you get it into flash mode while holding the rest buttom???

Yes, I can get into flash mode with reset button.

Also tried justXBMC rom but doesn't work at all, won't boot. However, when flashed with HardwareGuru rom everything works fine. Oh these are Minix X7 roms I'm flashing into my Ugoos UT2 8GBs.

Hmm I had Finless 1.8 up and running...

I just did not like that the on button led went to blue and red...it knew that it was rooted, like a checksum was not correct...

Hopefully Wasser release will have it all solved...

correct, it's T CPU. The cpu lock can be fixed. My next coming 1.2.5 firmware for UT2 already removes the cpu/ddr lock.

So you will get full speed again like 3188 cpu.

When I ordered mine, I made it clear to the seller that I did not want the RK3188T.

With stock firmware the Antutu came back with 18900 result.

So all the more reason to stay away from dealsprime.com. if I had realized there were vendors HERE I would have ordered from one of them. It just slipped my mind that most ofrums have this available. Now I feel even more like an idiot.

So, can someone (wasser) explain what problems this may cause for me as far as flashing, rooting and the like?

I've emailed dealsprime to complain and see what may happen. Just checked their site and it is advertised as RK3188 1.6. Maybe if they don't respond well Paypal will help me out...

This is a cross post from my Beyond XBMC thread.

I just had some time to set up the retail version of the Ugoos 32 gig and I have to say I am very impressed even with the stock rom. Everything just works super smooth.

I am waiting on Wasser to release his UT2 rom and then I will try that and a few of the X7 roms on it but so far awesome.

I don't understand how you have got a T model as Ugoos assured me that they would not be selling the T model at retail. The only ones that had the T chip should be the versions that were sent out for testing purposes like the one I received originally, I don't know if someone has sold you one of them.

My new retail model behaves far superior to the one I originally had with a T chip. It really is night and day. My retail version had Beyond XBMC 3.3 installed on it also so it has to be pretty new.
