      I tried a Measy RC12 wireless 2.4G fly mouse and LogitechWireless Touch Keyboard K400
      Both seem erratic and sluggish at times is this normal forthis type unit?
      Logitech keyboard touch pad combo works great Walmart $30. I also found that the cheap USB sound dongle works better with direct speaker connection.

        Yes, after more experimenting I found that when I unplug the unit and after rebooting that it worked fine with either of the keyboards
        I must have confused the device by switching between the remote and 2 different keyboard

          What I REALLY need, is a way to say for certain it is in fact a "T" chip or not. The unit is great I did see some stuttering on a movie yesterday but I'm nearly certain it was the movie and NOT the UT2. I see no issues with it at all. I need to know exactly what I have as I dont want a brick if I should decide to try a custom ROM. THIS is my big issue, what do I have? RK3188T or RK3188.....

          ======
          But because of:

          EU type power supply with a crappy US adapter that will not lock into a solid connection and HAD to be taped together to maintain one (EU plug pops out of US adapter) and also seems to be a bit of an electric shock hazard

          Antutu Benchmark showing as 1.4ghz

          My build number is dated 20140106

          XBMC version was NOT Beyond XBMC out of the box

          The box sleeve it came in shows it as an 8gb unit when it is in fact 32gb

          And because no one else seems to have these things showing up in their units, it makes me question what have I got?
          Never heard from Eugene
          My UT2 is still in transit to China as best I can tell
          I had to escalate my Paypal complaint to a claim to keep it active
          So I still have no UT2

              No I'm 63 years old. WTF does that have to do with anything?

              The claim has NOTHING to do with shipping. Don't know how you read that into the post which was just a list of what has happened of late. The initial complaint to paypal was made due to a failure by directdeals.com to communicate about the device. Since it would have just died due to time constraints I had no choice but to elevate the complaint to a claim. Now paypal gets directly involved with the purchase. All I want is what I paid for or a refund.

              Hope that clears things up enough for you to understand a little bit better.

              EDIT 04/15/2014

              Just got notification from Paypal my credit card has been refunded the 139.99 from dealsprime.com for the UT2 they sent me with the RK3188T chip!!!

              Who's a stupid kid now?

              Any suggestions on where I can purchase one and actually get a RK3188 chip in it?

              EDIT: 04/17/2014

              The refund hit my credit card this morning....so I'm off to geekbuying to order another one.

                Bonehead move

                Well, I really screwed up. I was trying to upgrade to kit kat today. And thought I would make the reset hole a little bigger. So a 1/16th drill bit later, and a little to deep. My ugoos ut2 is stuck on recover mode. Hell I can't even figure out how to open the damn case. Any thoughts other then calling me a dumb a** would be great.

                  I bet you can fix the reset button if you can get the case open. Screws might be under rubber feet or a label or both. You'll probably need to buy a new button to solder in, maybe radio shack. It's a momentary switch, but you'll need to figure out if it's double pole or not.

                    I had mine apart, if recall there is only the four bottom screw holding it together.

                    I had my own bone head moment

                    When taking my unit apart, my push button on the front fell apart which consisted of 3 very small pieces that went in my lap and on the floor, it was a small miracle that I was able to it back together.

                    If I were you I would carefully take it apart and check to see if the reset button is stuck.

                      I tried removing the 4 screws already. Bottom will not come out. What really sucks, is that I have a drill press and I could have set the depth. But got in a hurry and tried to short cut it.

                        Hi,

                        I recently installed the Wasser firmware 1.2.5 with Beyond XBMC 3.4 Beta on my Ugoos UT2
                        My next step is to let Beyond XBMC make use of my advancedsettings.xml (with credentials for the XBMC database on my NAS). According to this post there are two paths to put the file, so Beyond XBMC recognizes it:

                        Not rooted device:
                        Code:
                        [COLOR=#333333]/sdcard/android/data/com.flumpster.xbmc/files/.xbmc/system[/COLOR]

                        Rooted device:
                        Code:
                        [COLOR=#333333]/data/data/com.flumpster.xbmc/cache/apk/assets/system[/COLOR]
                        My device is rooted, so I wanted to make the folder structure, as described. However, I can't seem to make the folder "data". Not from within the Ugoos UT2 with File Explorer ES. On my computer I only see the 'sdcard' (internal).

                        With the not rooted path, I am not able to make the directory "android". I can make use of other names though.

                        Does anybody is familiar with this problem?

                          BOTH of these paths should already exist (espically if you installed Beyond XBMC as it will create them on the first run). You shouldn't need to make anything. Maybe you need to enable root access for ES file explorer in it's settings. Open ES file, select TOOLS from the menu on the left and scroll down to ROOT EXPLORER and make sure it's toggled on.

                          Keep in mind that this path - /sdcard/android/data/com.flumpster.xbmc/files/.xbmc/system - is NOT on your EXTERNAL sd card it's on your INTERNAL (NAND) sdcard. Rooted or not anything you place in it (in the proper folder within it) will over ride the /data/data/ path. so if you put your advancedsettings.xml file in the /sdcard/android path (in the proper folder) it will over ride the one you might have already placed in the /data/data/ path.

                            Just to update. I did get the unit open, and found that I did hit the switch with a drill bit. It messed up the plastic button. Went to Radio Shack to find a replacement, no luck. So I unsolder the switch and tried it out. Working, going to see if I can buy a replacement from Ugoos. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

                                You can just solder any switch and mount it on the chassis. There is enough space and it looks neat
