Strange... It works very fast for me. Much better than the IR remote we get with the device.
It could be wifi related?

and the keyboard is not working very well...

Logitec keyboard/mouse with wireless dongle worked fine as well. Can't remember exact model though...
Just plug the dongle into USB port and check

No thats way too bad... I us galaxy S4 phone. Maybe its your phone that relay the commands to slow?
Mine is instant - no delay.
I used a Logitec LX 710 wireless keyboard & mouse - also perfect with no delay

It seams so that the 13 final will fix it...
Or try this:

Audio out of sync
- You need to make the file 'advancedsettings.xml' and save it to folder
Android/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata/
- As far as what value to put in for the delay, I used the audio offset option in xbmc to determine where I needed it to be. When playing a movie, select the speaker icon on the lower right portion of the screen, adjust audio offset, and drag the slider bar to where the audio/video sync. Use that value for your latency setting.
- yours was 250 out, mine is 350, but I started with 250 and moved up

And, my tronsmart is linked by HDMI to my TV, which is linked to my speakers by optical
