Arnova 10b G3 ICS - Stock ROM - latest version available!

    Remember there are 2 version of the 10b G3. A capacitive screen version and a resistive screen version!

    All the ROM to date we have are for the capacitive screen. Is it possible your tablet is the resistive screen version? That would explain why the touch screen does not work!

    If we are to make a ROM for the resistive screen version, we need a stock ROM dump for it.

      Why does the touchscreen work with the Arnova 10 G2 firmware, but when Finless tried ICS from 10G3 on 10G2 it doesnt work ?

        OK well lets makes things understood.
        When I try to flash the 10b G3 with the 10b G3 kernel it just will not boot at all! So there is some other hardware problem other than just the screen.
        If I use the 10G2 kernel with the 10bG3 system, I can get it to boot but the touch screen wont work because the gingerbread kernel will not work with ICS system. ICS changed very much how the touch screen drivers work!

        Now the possible reason the 10b G3 will boot the 10G2 firmware with 10G2 kernel is the 10G2 kernel is not trying to use this different hardware in some way. So it is per say "backward" compatible.

        If I could just get the 10bG3 kernel to work on the 10G2 this all would be solved but to date I have not been successful doing that. It's almost like Arnova purposely made the kernel to NOT work on the 10 G2 which I would not put it past them to do.

              Welcome to the world of Android 4 ICS and compatibility issues. BBC IPlayer also has problems with it.

                Mine doesn't work properly either for video, video plays really fast. Audio/radio is fine though.
                I don't have Netflix membership, the apps runs OK but obviously can't get past the login screen!

                I did notice on Google Play that Flash won't be supported on Android versions after 4.0.x, wonder what the Beeb will do after that? Nothing probably...!

                  Well flash is going to be outdated anyway due to the HTML5 coding being able to add video content to webpages etc without the need for plug ins. Thank god for that as there are so many compatibility issues with flash, especially with Rockchip devices.

                  So the sooner they scrap flash the better and implement HTML5 into IPlayer etc and other streaming services

                    Yes the latest flash even on the PC is unstable. Watching some flash videos the other night and it kept locking up my browser several times when it would switch to a video ad.

                        According to the seller it is a capacitive model, but i doubt that by now.

                        Could someone please tell him how to make a firmware dump of his second tablet, which would fix many "not responding" resistive tablets?

                            I got the same problem. Seems to be an issue with German pads?

                              Yup, firefox_dfe told me, that it seems to be an issue with the german tablets, because the german touchscreen is not supported by the kernel. It doesn't arise from the difference between capacitive and resistive models.
                              He tries to dump the german stock firmware...

                                I hope you can get a dump of this ROM! Seems we have a few versions of the 10b G3 out there! Yours having a touch screen hardware like the original 10 G2. Wifi problems and audio will be easier to fix than the touch screen.
