CS968 MTK KITKAT ROM 4.4 - Finally

Great find pincer!! This ROM is the best one I have found till now. Very less blanking (at least for now ) and it does not have the bugs of screen scaling "remembering", volume buttons, dim blue/red power LED, LAN not working etc. Even the wifi/bt also now works since this is MTK specific ROM.

I am installing everything and taking a full backup with Finless Bob's procedure using the 2.1 backup tool.

One question I had. The change of screen size/density via su in terminal emulator is permanent? I thought I would have to edit the build.prop for this?

Other things I found:

• Youtube app is able to handle 4K videos (from youtube.com) very well. There was a tiny lag but not too noticeable.
• MK Player does not work with any 4K videos downloaded from youtube, even after HW+ is enabled.
• Beyond XBMC 3.4 and Gotham release are not able to handle even 1080p well, leave alone 4K

Can somebody try the above out with this ROM?

a:Yup, it doesn't play 4k. I never try to play 4k video until you mentioned it here (always fond of Full HD).
Well, it's stock rom. To play 4k, this rom need dracos's or tech1's hands.

I believe I have installed rockchip driver as my PC can see the drive letter if I turn on the USB storahge button. And I cannot find any other device drivers in the zip file, can you let me know what drivers you using? thanks

Try this, a got it from minix forumit's called RK_Driver Asistant.

a moment to connect hit root again

may I know how to root it by Kingo root? I follow instruction but my PC keep saying not connected. I can connect the cs968 as drive, but kingo root just said not connected. when I check my laptop, I found that the device cs968m not installed properly, is that the problem? And is that correct if I connected through otg(or need connect usb port?)

- bare in mind, since android phone have its own battery (power built-in) and screen, in this case (android tv-box), you have to plug in the adaptor (power supply) and connect the hdmi to your TV or LCD. Unlike flashing firmware that only need data cable.

Agree to trevt, it's the only way by far to know excatly what board version you have.

IMHO, the important things that you should know is the chip of wifi and bluetooth you have on your board, (is it ap6210 or mtk mt).

The easiest way to know this if not, is by identify what date of firmware you currently use (from factory) (eg. 20140411 (ap6210) or 20140419 (mtk), or 20140313 (mtk) or 20140225 (mtk).
