Question About Android and Apps (cs968)

Hi,
i am sure this doesn't has to do anything with the ROM and cs968 but i thought that I would ask this to this thread because you all seems so good at working with this box and android.
I Have two questions:
1. Why does android install all applications on internal memory? I have only 1gb memory internal and 6 gb SD Nand, soon filled upp internal but NAnd is nearly empty, and most of the apps dont allow to move to SD. Is there any solution on this?
2. Can you use an external Usb harddrive to have movies on and then use apps to play these files? Xbmc etc..?

hope you dont think its to funny questions for you, but I am new to this and I Love It :-)

it worked , i also used the normal version of beyond (removed the launcher ver) , i activate the sdfix , and everything seems to work ok

There is the millions dollar question for me . . ., have no idea . . , or maybe, youtube have super 4k movies codec..,

Well I try play it with MX Player with SW codec it run but is laggy . . . ,

I was wondering about this. The way it probably works is, youtube app asking google servers (via API's) to stream already decoded 4K vdeos, so all it has to do is play it. MX player (and XBMC as well) on the other hand, has to use CPU power to decode the 4K videos, a CPU/GPU intensive job and would work better with oc'ed CPU/GPU/RAM.

Screen Scale for CRT Monitor (Old TV)

Good news, to make it permanent you should change your box output resolution to match or near as your TV resolution

Here's how I do it, : You need to root your box, install Terminal Emulator and input this command (thanks to Tech1)

su then press enter
wm size 800x480 then press enter
wm density 120 then press enter

Reboot your device. You can change the value to match your TV screen. Remember DIWYOR..,
If you change output to hdmi, make sure to reset your output resolution by changing the value to reset.

Thanks for your reply... all working now as a previous thread said it take 20mins to setup ... i must have been in a hurry......... noticed USB DEBUGGING cant be enable ? any reason for this .....

Have you switch "On" the development? It's in upper right corner after you choose Development in setting menu.

This firmware is stuck on box setting up after 15mins....? i have v3 board.. anyone having this issue

well i did a factory reset

screen -> after restart the frame is still big , if i go to screen scale and press only once an arrow (for example left arrow to reduce the screen) then the frame goes to previous setting (previous as before the restart )

beyond xbmc -> well i didn't manage to update the library locally , but i used the advancedsettings.xml with my remote mysql db and it was ok (the problem now is that it can't download and display the thumbnails from the movies/shows)

@bigbow64, try to reflash your firmware, and choose restore in Batch Tool. Btw, v3 with mtk right?
@kodorevi8ulis, sorry to inform you, that scale setting doesnt save with av output. only hdmi. As for beyond xbmc setting, I dont have experience in changing setting on it. But, maybe you can reinstall beyond xbmc.

Screen settings

Everything works for me, only thing tough is that when you change the settings you won't be able to press the OK button in the middle, but settings stays as you set it to.

New KitKat dated April 23 for the ap6210 for the CS968

Here is the new Kitkat rom for the CS968 dated April 23. It is rooted, but can't install busybox or Superuser. It is still 720P. It has Frumpster Beyond XBMC installed, but does not give multichannel passthrough via HDMI. Have not tried Gotham XBMC yet. One thing to note, it took about 20 minutes to set up, so be patient. Other than being rooted out of the box, it seems the same as the April 11 version.
