I downloaded and installed the firmware upgrade and then ran the market fix and all looked like it was OK. But the first time I tried to use google market it asked me to log in I put in my google gmail account and then things started to go wrong. Google services stopped and then everytime I try to use Google Play I get server error.

Move to SD card doesn't actually go to SD card
This is interesting as I put a SD card in mine, and I see it in storage, however when I move my apps to the "SD Card" they go to a smaller partition in main memory and not on the SD card itself. I see the full space available in storage. Anyone else run into this?
Originally posted by diabls View PostOkay, when you get your SD card, pop it in and make sure it mounts, then go to the settings and go to your apps tab or something like that and it will show you the space available (internal and SD) The SD should show up and if it does, make sure it shows the FULL size if your SD card, if it doesn't go to the bottom of the settings menu and look for an option to erase or format your SD card, make sure its the SD card and not the internal.
You could keep the amazon marketplace too, it may have things the google marketplace might now have, it shouldn't hurt anything.. I haven't checked out the amazon marketplace yet. I did see that on the main page where you download the amazon marketplace, it mentions something about a free app each day. (full) I haven't checked that out either tho.
I will make a post of some other apps I find useful in my other thread that I made speaking of the " Airdroid " app, because I've found some great apps because someone else told me about them, otherwise I may have not found them.

If anyone knows more (there are plenty) or can explain better please let us know.

I looked at my card after unmounting it when plugged into the USB and it shows no files so whatever it things is SD storage is actually part of the built in memory. It sounds like you have the exact same issue.

I think maybe it is moving some data (with most apps it won't move the whole thing it seems) over to card and maybe the tablet is not reading it correctly. I am pretty new with all this but always willing to share what I am seeing and my thoughts in attempt to help.

Thanks for confirming this. I have submitted a question to support. All I have to show for it thus far is the standard auto reply.

I did not trust that it was normal and so I copied my titanium backup to my PC before installing the firmware update even though I had instructed the tablet to move Titanium to the external SD and also used it as the backup location. The tablet showed all was well BUT indeed after the firmware update the programs that were "safe" on the external SD were indeed erased because they were on a partition on the internal strorage also labeled "SD". I don't know a fix but perhaps some of the experts here can come up with one.

I have a couple ICS tablets What I've done, besides bitching at the manufacturer and google, I went to 1mobile.com and added their app store instead and getjar as well. While I can not get everything. I have gotten all the things I was looking for. Things like dolphin browser, lookout, firefox plus all the games I normally use. Google claims they gave the os for free to manufacturer and if they wanted to pay they could have google play added. There are even more places to get apps than the 2 I've listed look around you'll find more. Who needs Google play I sure don't!

tilt sensor not functioning
I sent an email to Southern Telecom via their support page and reported the issue of the tilt sensor (g-sensor) not working for Temple Run. I requested for an fix or update to the firmware to correct this issue. Their email is [email protected].
Surprisingly, they were pretty quick at responding to my request. Unfortunately, they brushed it off as being a single case issue for "one" game, and didn't want to take up on the issue. I reported back that I also found F18 Carrier Landing is not working, which interestingly shows in my Play store as being compatible with the device. I plan on testing the aTilt Labyrinth game when I get home. So far, the only working game is Raging Thunder.
If anyone else here has found other games or apps that have problems with the sensor in this or other similar Polaroid tablets, please submit a request to them to fix the issue. I think the more people who request for a fix, the more hope we will have at getting a firmware update from them.

If they are correct and I cannot have any apps on my SD card at all, in part or in total, someone let me know as I question the value of being able to put a 32 GB card in this device given that answer. I don't plan on having tons of music and video, so what else is there to use that space if not the endless apps that are available?
Many appliations will not run if the entire file is placed on the SD card. Some
of the program must run from the internal memory of the device. This is why the
device will move most, but not all of the application files to the SD card. This
is also why some apps are nort transferrable to the SD card. This is how Android
runs on all devices.
Thank you,
Nate Franco

Check here
This thread addresses the external SD card issue. It is long, convoluted and has gone dormant, so if someone digests the essence, I'd suggest adding a concise, tested procedure in this thread. I have not tried this myself although I need to.

I'm disappointed ST does not understand the situation.

I suppose if it is lifeless I won't be able to get it back to the correct state to install the correct firmware.
I would not recommend doing that, as the 701i has neither hardware buttons nor camera.
As for the 702c/703c/7xc, ST says don't cross-flas those, either, but they are essentially the same tablet, so THAT *MIGHT* **WORK** . The tablet's virtually unbrickable, but you wouldn't gain anything, will lose more than you gain, and DEFINITELY constitutes attempting to redefine the envelope beyond its ability to be redefined...
