I've been working with a few guys on a ROM for the 701 and 703. You can find it here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...d!-Please-help!

The new 7XC ROM unroots the tablet. The ROM made by electrik in the above thread not only works on the 7XC, but it roots it, and installs the Play Store.

If so what version are you using

I installed 11.1.111.7 but can not get it to work
Greetings. This is a very helpful site. I am having the same problem, and have done tons of reading on this subject. Still deep in the woods and it looks slightly familiar if you've used a Linux OS before; mine was Eeelinux for an Asustek Epad. What I have read so far is that this is related to the CPU. My PTAB 7XC has an ARM 11, reads ARMv6. To use flash CPU; such as ARM10, needs ARMv7. I am investigating browsers that claim to support flash through cloud tech. Because this involves CPU structure, maybe tough to work around. For our model, I've yet to read any stable fixes on either Amazon or Google forums.
Will post what I find. Best of luck.

Why don't you just flash my custom elektricity ROM? it's faster and has play/root

One of the files in the instruction was missing. That is what I want to do. Do you have a step by step?

Not sure what you mean. Which file and which instructions are you referring to?

I personally like Titanium backup, but if I remember correctly you can backup the actual ROM itself through the CWM recovery (you need to have (and possibly mount) the external SD card though)...

I was referring to a earlier post about installing that OS. I was confused by it I admit. So I just don't want to mess it up and haven't done this with a tablet. So any help you can give me really. The devise is so limited the way it is.
Thanks for the tip on backup.

honestly, the hardest thing about flashing these devices is making the o.s. recognize. thr tablets are pretty brickproof-i've never bricked one in the year and a half that I've had them-even before I was making roms for them.

The instructions I found seem to use a format that uses a usb cable. I can't find a data cable for this damn thing. Is there a way to install from the sd card?

Not with the way I've packed the image but honestly-it's a simple mini-usb cable. You should have gotten one when you bought the tablet, so I'm confused why you wouldn't have one.

Found my cable. Followed the instructions and no Play store.
