Thanks Damo I've tried and tried but it just wont go into recovery mode any more, I don't think I've made any changes to windows 7 I did try on another laptop but that the same, any ideas ?

Strange

Have you put it into recovery when your tab it totally switched off.

Try switching tab off . Don't plug tablet into computer yet. Try putting it into recovery now. When screen goes black than plug it into computer.

thanks damo I disconnected it from my pc turned it off then done the reset and esc it does seem to go into
recovery mode, as soon as I plug it into my laptop it turns the tab on and windows 7 comes up with usb device not recognised, not sure what to try next

What does it show up in device manager when your tab is plugged in?

There are loads of things to try the first been the cable as in try a different one. If you have flashed before than your USB ports should be okay. And if you have already installed the drivers than they still should be on your pc. Try a different USB port and a dedicated one not through a USB hub and make sure it it standard USB and not USB 3.

But if you can't get it into recovery from not been plugged in than I suspect something else

Do not confuse recovery mode with flash mod!!! They are different e.g. in flash mode a different device shows up in Windows device manager than recovery mode!!!

If the tablet does not show up in the flash tool, then you are not getting it into the correct mode. Sorry I do not know how to do that on the 9G2 as I know it is a little different than the 10G2. However the biggest mistakes I see peiople make is holding buttons and stuff way too long. Many sintructions say to hold reset for 10 seconds. THAT is incorrect. In fact on the 10G2 you hold volume up and just press the reset pin hole for 1 second NO MORE! Then hold volume up for about 3 seconds or until you hear windows BONG a device. If you hold volume up too long, it goes into recovery mode NOT flash mode!

Hello Bob. let me see if i can ex[lain this correctly, i have the Arnova 9 G2 flashed with your 1.2 ICS rom, im trying to get this Gingercomb flashed but when i try to load the driver from the rockchip batch tool 1.4 Its not working....i believe its because when the device is connected to my computer in flash mode, its showing in device manager as AN9G2I
any help will be appreciated

When you say trying to load the driver from the flash tool. Why are you trying to load a driver to flash. Once your drivers are installed than you don't need to load drivers ever again

I just got it flashed,,,, I guess I was in recovery mode instead of flash made as bob explained in an earlier post, but thanks for the quick reply

Damo still trying, I can get it into upload mode by pressing reset and esc I get the blank screen but it wont work when I'm connected to my pc, it shows up in device manager as HTC Dream Composite ADB Interface, I've tried 4 leads and they all give the same results the only thing I can think of is I installed KIES for my samsung galaxy phone and this has messed up the drivers some how, I did remove kies but still the same problem, it just will not go into upload mode with the cable connected, any thoughts ?

I forgot to mention when I have the tab connected and try to put it into upload mode it says usb device not reconised

Sorted well kind of, Idug out an old compaq laptop running win xp and it worked on that a bitslow but did the job, I think the samsung software I installed for myphone has messed the drivers up on my win 7 laptop, not sure how tosort it but I will try a restore later to see if that helps, anywaythe old laptop can stay as my arnova programming laptop, thanks for all your helpand hope this will help anyone else having this kind of problem.

My arnova 9 g2

Right, tested a number of games and these are what I got from them:
Angry Birds: Stutters at menu and sometimes pauses for a slight second in game. Changing Chainfire settings cured this.

Assassins Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles: Cropped menus (image seems to be pushed down the screen leaving a huge black border at top) and in game 3d graphics are white making people look like ghosts. Couldn't seem to fix this with varied chainfire settings.

Asphalt 6: Says not supported.

Canabalt HD: Has a couple of graphic glitches in HD mode, but runs very smoothly.

Dead Space: Working smoothly with Qualcomm and reduced texture quality.

Duke Nukem 3D: PERFECT.

Dungeon Hunter: Has the weird pushed down screen thing that AC had on the menu, but in-game is perfect.

Frontline Commando: PERFECT.

Fruit Ninja (Original): PERFECT.

Fruit Ninja THD: Gets through Openfaint fine then crashes to desktop. Couldn't get it working with any settings or plugins.

Minecraft Portable Edition: PERFECT. Even with fancy graphics.

Rebuild: PERFECT.

Riptide GP: PERFECT. (Surprised me tbh)

Shadowgun: Working with Qualcomm/PowerVR and reduced texture quality.

Sonic CD: PERFECT.

Sprinkle: Gets to menu and after selecting new game, returns to desktop.

Temple Run: PERFECT.


That's it so far. Any other games I try out I will let you know the results Bob. =]

How come my arnova 9 g2 doesnt run temple run perfectly? O_O i installed chainfire 3d pro with nvidia plugin. I even tried other plugins. Still temple run is not running very smooth.

Bob, Just wondering if you'll be porting any of the 10G2 ROM advancements to 9G2? I've been trying to live with ICS but it's tooo sllloooooowww so downgrading to see if I can make my 9G2 workable again
