You have to do that the first time you boot on the sdcard.

Here I am with my wifi issues :

so, wifi can work pretty well but for a few minutes and stops working.
If I turn off the device, wait a little and reboot, wifi reworks. And stops working after a few minutes...

If i boot on Android, wifi works pretty well. I was listening music via Airplay (from my macbook to the android device via the wifi network) during 2 hours tonight and everything was fine.
But if i boot on Ubuntu until wifi stops working and reboot immediately on android wifi doesn't work in Android. I have to turn off the device, wait a few minutes, and reboot. Wifi comes back in Android an stays stable.

For me it seems to be a hardware problem, nothing to do with a driver issue. Maybe when i run Ubuntu, the hardware overheats and damage temporarily the wifi chipset. Is it possible ?

The cpu in my device is a 3188T. I notice in Ubuntu, cpu max frequency is 1,6Ghz. Is it not too much for a 3188T ?
I'm considering to "underclock" the cpu with cpufrequtils (if i can get enough time connected to install it). Is it a way to explore ?

I'm really new to linux (too days ago i wasn't able to launch a script by myself ^^) but I try. And i notice the 'lshw' command can give informations on the hardware. So here the output.

        When Wifi is Working :
        Code:
        linuxium@LINUXIUMONE:~$ lshw
WARNING: you should run this program as super-user.

Maybe someone will have an idea and could help, but here i'm stuck...

I've uploaded new versions of the kernel for MK802IV with

          1080P: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99...0lmdjNCVDFFckU
          720P: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99...EN5d1hzamtjclk

Again they should work for both 3188 and 3188T CPUs and have a more stable wifi than my earlier ones.

Ian, do you have 1080p kernel for Minix Neo x7 with NFSv4 support? I was almost fully satisfied with chenac's kernel but it doesn't have NFSv4 (neither not NFSv3) support . DNSound's kernel has NFSv4 support but I have other problems with it: screen size doesn't fully fit into 1080p display and there is no sound via HDMI cable (only via 3.5'' jack). I tried to build my own kernel using chenac's config and Golland's sources but got black screen.

Isn't my kernel for the Minix Neo x7 in post #23 1080p with NFSv4?

Kernal was always pretty stable for me. Only trouble I was having is that my wifi, the RTL8723bs, was not working. That is the only thing keeping me from using it as my day to day surfing PC. Hell, if this thing ever works correctly, I may not need to turn on the big PC ever unless I plan on playing games or something. Thanks.

Indeed it has NFSv4 support! I have not noticed that before. But with that kernel I have no sound neither via HDMI cable not 3.5 mm jack. Looks like that thread is not a right one to discuss linux kernel issues. So I will try to debug sound problem and if I will not be able to solve it I will write a post in appropriate thread on that forum. Ian, thank you very much for your work!

                      Hey Ian,
the new kernel works very well on my MK809III / QC802. I turn on the the device 24h ago and the wifi still working . I downloaded big files via torrent, setup a vnc with my macbook and everything is fine !
However i had success with the 1080p Kernel but not with the 720p kernel. I still have troubles with wifi with this one.
Another thing i notice, is the etc/rc.local script doesn't run at startup. I have to log out and re-log to get it run. But i'm sure i can easily fix that.
Now we just have to hope Rockchip releases the source code for the video hardware acceleration and we will have a great system for our living-rooms !
A last question, what is the difference between this kernel and the one you release in this thread ?

Thanks again Ian for your great work !

Log out and re-log in, it will work. I guess we have something to do to have the rc.local script runs properly at the first boot. Answer is on the ubuntu forums.

                            Thanks, that did the trick.

Indeed I had put it into the rc.local but as that does not work yet my setting did not work out until I logged on again.

                              Booting android 4.4.2 rom

                              Hi,

I want to test a new rom for my device (MK918) with android 4.4.2 Kernel and I read in this thread that someone was able to do it.

I noticed that Radxa files are different from mk918, there are less files to flash and partitions address are different.

                              In attach my rom parameters.

can I use sd boot with this ROM ?

                              Thanks in advance

hi ian thanks for your hard work, I got mk908iii and 908. mk908iii successful boot from sd card but to mk908 can not, I've tried using the instructions in https://plus.google.com/+IanMORRISON/posts/P6TNn3sisa2 but I have not been lucky.
